I guess it is called Ohio???

My Posts: All  Forum  Topic

After several years of not flying heli's, outside of a pull on dads MA 1005 gas'r, here n there, I had a hankering to get another one. Actually, it was a graduation present to myself. I debated on several different brands. If it haddn't been for Buzz Butler of Magnum Fuels and Cody Zimmerman, I wouldn't have bought the Rush.

I'm not a big 3D flyer, I leave that for my airplanes!! I plan on flying some F3C style aerobatics with it.

But anyways, what I'll be using in the Rush..................

Edge 693 FBL's
Edge 115 tails
Scorpion 4035-560
CC Ice HV 120
Savox 1267's
AR 7200BX/JR 11X
12S 5200 Magnum Energy's
2S Lipo pack, whichever Cody sends me in a care package.

I would be working on it, if I had the pinion for the motor, linkages and manual. But I'm in no great big hurry to complete it.

I have a couple friends locally that are more than willing to help me get this all tuned up!! I have no doubt that it will be fantastic!!

First of all congrats on buying a Rush. You ever have any questions let us know on here and we will do our best to answer an questions you may have. Second pm me your email address and I will email you the manual.

You are going to like this machine a lot! It is really quick off center making rolls and tic toks very quick and crisp. This means that super high headspeed and 14-15 degrees collective are not needed. I normally fly mine at 2000-2050ish for headspeed, my high headspeed is 2150. Also the heli runs silky smooth even at high headpseeds.

Hope you enjoy this model and make sure to send me your email and I will email you the manual.

Thanks for the info!! Cody and Buzz are sending me a care package with the missing parts from it. I did find the manual on the Alees site. I can't do anything without the pinion and linkage set. D'OH!!! Which is fine with me. I used to rush things, and have had things fail. So, I'm not gonna rush this one. No pun intended!!

Real interesting how Alees come about!! Cheers for Charley!

I plan on normal flying around 1950-2K. I would like to try to get the Scorpion into the efficient zone If you say is it smooth at 2150, I'll run a stunt mode at 2150.

Thanks Ryan!! I do appreciate it!!!

If u planned on 1950 and 2000 for your flying the u will get more flight time as well at your planned headpeeds.

A spot to keep an eye on is the radius arms going from the swash to phasing arm. I have between 100-150 flights on my rush those links rounded out pretty good. Just something to keep an eye on

Kinda hard to pick me out of that line up, huh??? Better that line up than a police line up, right??

Im still in disbelief that I bought a new machine with all the fixin's.

HeliProz South order will be in on Friday. Have my sister/bro in law Masters graduation Saturday.

A pal of mine, Gary Williams offered his assistance in setting this one up for me. Im sure I could get another friend to help me too, if Gary is not available. Gary persuaded me into the AR 7200 BX for this. I had planned on using the 7200 BX anyways. His vote of confidence in the system sold it for me. Just something to me about having more stuff on board to go wrong. The simpler, the better for me.

I cruised thru the 7200BX manual online last while sitting at work. Thinking to myself, what the hell did I get myself into??? Lol!! Im sure it looks complicated, but once you are in it, it is a breeze.

It will feel good to have wind under the rotor blades again.

I see you are planning on coming to the heli fly in next month in Dayton, Scott. It is just a short drive for me, down I 75 south to make it. It has been years since I've been to a heli fly in.

Would like to meet you there, Scott, if I can make it.

I got my final servo needed, 7200BX with sat ant and servo horns all from Rons Heli Proz South. Some dummy got the wrong servo horns. Outside of buying more servo horns, not sure what I'm gonna do.... Maybe start out with the stock Savox/Futaba servo horns, then swap them out to aluminum's......

I soldered up the bullet connectors on the ESC while at work today. Just waiting on my BuddyRC order to show up with EC5 connectors and a EC5 paraboard for my 3010B charger.

Definately appreciate the offer, Scott!!!! Will see what is happening then!

Right now, I'm using the Quick UK wheels. They turned out perfect, but I currently have JR servos. I'll be moving to ProTek, soon. You might want to investigate these:

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product...rn-360-Rotation

They make setup a snap. I'm serious. NO more subtrim from the FBL unit. You can get a perfect mechanical setup in so much less time than with conventional horns, it's not even comparable.

Got most of the stuff for my Rush. I thought I had the right balls, no pun intended, for the servo arms and linkages. Boy was I wrong. I have the 3mm, not the 2mm's. So, another quick order the ReadyHeli. I think I have made 2 orders with them in less than 1 week.

I actually bound my 7200BX to my 11X today. I hooked up the ESC to the motor and checked rotation, and I had it right! I just matched up the wire colors and it was correct! 50/50/90 rule. 50/50 shot at getting it right 90% of the time!

Been working on it slowly this week, with taking a week off from the job, and starting a new one!!

BTW- I bought a set of ProTekRC servo arms!! So, hopefully I can make the Dayton event with having a couple of flights on it!!
