I have a V1 now (origional with no metal) and seen on helikraft, a conversion kit for like $94 (was $54 before I logged in then it jumped up in price for some reason?). Looking thru the differences between the V1 and V2, it looks like the conversion kit is only a small percentage of what is needed. It looks like I would need another approx $100 in metal OEM parts from helikraft for a full conversion. Is it really worth the conversion or just get the V2 kit?

Once buying all the metal parts and the conversion kit, there is not much of the origional heli left.

Only reason I am thinking of the conversion, is I may be ordering parts due to putting mine in while doing some flips and was thinkig of starting to get some metal parts. I had parts on hand so I am currently back in the air with it. It's almost like not worth getting metal and putting it on a v1.

After the conversion, I was then thinking about a E360 conversion, but I would then need a new ESC and motor as well.

I did read another post when searching and they said they should have just got the V2 kit. Any thought from those who may have had the same debate?

I would just get the a new kit with torque tube, like the V2 SE or FBL. I did the conversion and it was a lot of work to get servos to fit. My second V2 was a FBL kit and the frames are cut different and no problems with servo fit. Photo on the right, new frame.

It was probably in the $50 range because they were running their 50% off sale. Sign up for their newsletter to be notified. They seem to be running it every other weekend.

I can't see the frame differences? Looking at the conversion kit manual vs the real kit manual, the conversion frame is PV1267 and the real one is PV1223, but when looking for parts on tower, the PV1267 is the valid part number?

PV1223 is discontinued, it was two side frames(PV1267). PV1267 frames are from the V2 belt and V2 conversion kits. PV1271 frame are the torque tube frames, V2 SE and FBL.

PV1271 is on the right, notice the larger cutouts for the collective servos.

I see it now; thanks for the clarification. I guessing they started with the one fram, noticed the problem and started the new frames. I haven't seen a V2SE or V2 torque tube version. They aren't on tower or TT's website. I'm guessing when the old frames are phased out, they will put the new style frame in the basic V2 and conversion kits. I guess if you get the old frame, the dremel tool would be pretty handy.

On my V2 conversion Kit I had to Dremel the frame and mill the top of the bottom servo bracket to get HS-5065MG to fit, with the V2 FBL kit no problems.
Tower should have this kit in Sept. or Oct.
