Wow, those pictures are amazing.
Imagine dragging a whole wagon full of equipment and chemicals around to take a few pictures each day in this rugged country. Couldn't run down to your local drugstore for one hour development, or more food. No cell phones, letters took months to reach home, if at all.
What would really be outstanding is to see these same locations today from the same perspective.

wow, those are inspiring. I cant get one from the mines here in Virginia city, but i'll hike up to Gold Hill and see if i can get close to that picture.

beautiful pics!!

I wish I had seen these prior to visiting Santa Fe, NM. It would have been cool to find that same spot he took the pic from and get a future photo to compare to.
