That's what you get for flying too close.

I'm sure it can be sent in and fixed cheaper than replacing... best to call customer service and ask though.

Call RF. They have replaced CD's for me twice and I'm sure they will take care of you. As long as you registered your unit when you bought it, they will have record of it. If you bought it used, you are probably sh!t out of luck.

Edit, Sould be a piece of cake to fix. To my recollect their is only 4 wires in a USB cable and they are each color coded. If it don't work there must be another broke wire inline on either side of the main break. I'd just get a good full length usb cable, and open the box and wire it from inside. Piece of cake.

Bought new, or used same service. If bought used, and not registered, just call Knife Edge, tell them you bought it second hand, they will ask for the serial numbers, and then reset them. and Register it to you. Been their done that.

I'm guessing there is a shield too, make sure that is connected also.

My son dropped my RF transmitter and broke it. They replaced it for $65 and told me they don't try to repair them. I had to send them the transmitter first before they would send the replacement.

If it's the braided wrap then it's a ground, but if it's the tinfoil wrap it serves no real purpose other than extra protectant for the plastic coating process, or interference on the other wires. But not needed.
