I have a 72mhz fm radio( jr 9303) I flying a scale 600 size md 500, but before the first flight i noticed problems with the range. I had the reciever wire coiled up on the inside and a small amount running to the outside. What would be the best way to run the wire?? Maybe down the tail on the inside of the fuselage( but i think that the mechanics tail is carbon fiber) If I did it this way, i would have to cut about a foot of the reciever wire off( its pretty long) Any ideas????

Don't cut the length EVER!! I like to run mine down the tail then double back if the length is too long. What I do is put a piece of Tubing from a Golden Rod (Plastic Pushrods for airplanes)that I have measured and bent, then push the antanai wire down this tube. Keeps everything nice and tidy.

There are Dean's antennas that are 5 inches long and are close to the performance of a full length 72 MHz antenna. I have used them on four heli's

coiled up...the antenna can be coiled but it cannot cross over itself.

carbon fiber does not affect 72mhz signal unlike 2.4ghz

Thanks Guys for your help, but I think the receiver is faulty, I've been flying 72 mhz for 7 years and never had a problem. I've run the wire down the tail, and even though the range is alot better, it's no where close to flying range. I ordered this reciever on ebay used as a replacement to my reciever that had its wire pulled out. It looks fine, but I don't think its working properly. ?????? Does horizon or anyone else do reciever repair.
