Anyone know if they are plannig to discontinue the Aurora? I have enjoyed mine for the past two years, best flying nitros I have owned. I do like the look of the new models, reminds me of the Goblin but with a nitro version as well. Pretty cool.

I saw the Mostro prototype at IRCHA and was really impressed. I can't remember the name mod the designer, but, he spent a good 20 minutes with us going over the details of the design and why he chose the mono-block concept.

It is also cool that the mono-block between the E and the N version are the same.

So, very cool Monstro Heli. Looking forward to see it flying,

iKon, because I am connected to my heli, are you?

There are no plans to discontinue the Aurora models. Avant RC will tailor to customers who still would prefer to purchase/fly the Aurora model, and leave no one in the dark.

Nice design.

I've noticed that the goblin boom is attached to a T track with nylon bolts as the breaking point...how is this one in comparisson?

I dont know if I dig the belt but if it works it works right. My question is about the mainshaft on the Mostro, in the pics it looks to be greater then the current 10mm shaft on the Avant. It looks big even geater then 12mm.

GOT FBL?

I will very cautiously be looking forward to this one. Looks like they finally decided to go with a less complex/low parts count style frame design. I like the boom supportless concept. The price is right and I'll be pulling all my new equipment from my Aurora that never gets flown for this one.

Interesting that they didn't parade this heli around for 2 years before anyone could get one of their own..lessons learned I guess

Hopefully I won't be empty handed 45 days from now. But, we shall see

Oh I got to mark this thread. This will be my entertainment for the coming months. Don't mean to bash Avant, but you would have to somewhat crazy to pre-order one after the last ordeal. Think I had my down payment down for 6+ months or so and we all know that story. Wait until it comes IMO then put down your cash.

Nope, not saying that at all... Just saying history typically repeats itself. I truly do hope it arrives on time, but never give a date unless you are 100% sure, just saying. Good look to all ya getting it.

The boom mounts to the mono block via two extremely large clamping style mounts. Due to the large clamps even if you really tighten down each clamp, it will spread the load out across the boom and not cause it to crack.

This is the best picture currently available of the clamps

You can see the clamps behind the mono block and the 2nd one below the helical cut main gear.

Looking sweet ... but yes indeed a perfect copycat form the Goblin.
The Nitro version make it up for it.

2 major issues I can think of are :
the boom is of a regular cylindrical shape BUT WITHOUT any boom supports
+ the DFC head design
The 2 above combined does not sound good, I see a serial boom-striker coming !
