Has anyone tried converting a 600N to a 550N using the 550E boom and 550 blades?

I do not see any reason this could not be done ... but the question is why would you want to do that ?
55 / 60 ci engines those days are producing plenty enough power to swing 600 blades !

Also the head speed is going to top out at around 2150 rpm which is just too slow for 550 blades.

60% of the time, it works every time!

I can fly a 550 as low as 1700rpm.

2000 is adequate and 2100 is more than enought.

OP...go for it!!!

I can fly a 700 at 1000 rpm but it ain't no fun!

Im sure the guy is thinking of it being unboggable but why would he be wanting that if he didn't want to bang the sticks?!

After success of 800N conversion. I and my friend came up with this 550N conversion. The reason for this conversion is how it is going to be? flyable? good? or bad?

For the first flight of this, I was amazed because I firstly thought about the gear ratio that it can't be flied for sure but it was so good. The tail is rock solid but kinda hard to do piro flip because of shorter boom and also the main blade is to long! about the CoG? it is perfect balanced.

If you are interested of this conversion, I would say go for it, stick with OS50 Hyper and the 52x main blade.

I have been flying a stretched 550 for while, what I got was better gas mileage, but the heli felt heavier though nearly unboggable.

just put 550 or 570 blades on a 600 no need to shrink the boom
and try for your self. 2000 HS more than enough just add a lil pitch.

spending time, paying attention

Like that idea of using smaller blades, sounds interesting
