First of all NO it's not a real Yenko, it's a 1969 chevelle Malibu 250ci with a 2 speed power glide transmission.I did most of the work myself,I learned a lot of electrical, mechanical, welding body filling and painting. The only things I didn't have a hand in was the final painting of the white and the black, but I did put the stripe stencil kit on And yes the stripes are painted.. I had a blast building it.
I call it Baby steps because it was one step forward and two steps back when I was building it. The guy who had it before me butchered everything he touched, I made it proper as best as I could.

I think I will go for a cruse now

Did you leave the 6 cyl in it? My first car was a '72 Nova with a 3 speed manual and the 250 6 cyl. - I like that engine. They sound good with a long (relatively quiet) glass pack, not one of the short blatty sounding ones. Easy to work on. Very nice looking car!

VERY NICE!

My very first car was a 69 Chevelle, it was that ugly puke green color, paid $50 for it! Would love to have it now.

ya it still has the mean buzzin half dozen and the slip and slide.
I didn't want to build a gas guzzling race car, I wanted a car that I can take the kids for ice cream and get groceries with.

I don't have any pictures of the engine yet, it's nothing special, all stock except for the chrome valve cover..

thanks for the compliments.

On my 250ci I bought an adapter that let me put a 2 barrel carb on it - big upgrade from the single throat carb (not really but it was something for an 18 year old to do to his car)

6 in a row that goes

I do have an original offenhauser intake from a 67 fire bird ,and a holly 390 four barrel carburetor ,and a set of Clifford headers( duel exhaust) for it that will go on next year.

That'd be really nice - I seem to remember the headers would make a real difference on that engine though I never had them to try.

y'know Chevy did make a 300ci version of that engine

If you want to make it a Yenko clone then you have to add the aluminum 427 engine, if not you have to remove those stripes.

that is very nice, I LOVE the older car's.
I would love to have a 69 Camaro rs/ss orange with white stripes and all black inside.

the oldest car I had was a 72 mustang fastback it was pea green with a 302. it needed some work but I loved that car and im not a ford fan, go figure.

now im drooling

hey garyl, don't be hattin, if you don't like it don't look at it. most of the Yenko chevelles didn't have aluminum blocks, do your research.

my objective was not to have a clone, I wanted something other than a Malibu or a SS.

for all the rest of you car lovers, thanks again.

I never liked the Yenko stripe on the Camaro's, but it looks better on the Chevelle/Malibu, it fits their rear fender better than the Camaro's

that's because the chevelle's were the first Yenko cars, the Camaro's and novas came later..
