Vario mechanics with and e-conversion. I hope to start assembly of the mechanics later today.

I will post pics as the build moves along.

Now that this in on the bench I think I need a bigger hangar.

Hey Butch why do you have a dog hanging from the ceiling !!

On a serious note do you have the mechanics and if so have you just brought them, as they seem to be discontinued on the UK Vario site ?

Nick,

That's Roxie our Akita.

You mean these mechanics?

Yes I do have them as you can see. I ordered them through Joe at east Coast Scale.

I was able to assemble the base mechanics today between work flights. They are assembled enough to get the placement correct in the tray, make some marks and glue some schit together.

6 lbs if I am lucky. LOL

This is a pretty straight forward assembly unlike C-2 where everything had to be designed and or made.

Its moving along well.

You really don't get a feel for the size of this fuse until you see the mechs sitting in it. This is going to be one impressive heli!

Hummmm,

The tail servo wheel mounts to a wood circle which is bonded to the inside of the rotating duct for tail control. The inside fiber glass was not level or square to the open end so with a bowl of rice, 15 ml of casting resin and a little glass cloth we now have a flat surface parallel to the open end.

forward end leveled in the bowl or rice.

you can see the high spot on the left.

just enough casting resin to cover the high spot

glassed and now perfectly flat and parallel with the open end

Rice is good.
