If u got one of these old birds, they can be upgraded to have ALOT more performance. GO FLYBARLESS !!!

I did this old CP Pro with a 3G and a bunch of spare parts.
My fav machine for yard flying. The tail holds THAT GOOD!!

Stats :
Main Motor ~ Stk SR 3900 kv w/ a CC Thunderbird 18
12 tooth pinion
Tail Motor ~ Main motor from a 130X 6100 kv w/ a CC Thunderbird 9
MICRO HELI main gear w/ auto hub & St Stl mainshaft
Tail prop ~ Parkzone Micro CUB (100D x 60P) trimmed 1/8" each end to be 94D x 60P
Hyperion 3 cell 850 25C batts ~ 5:30 flite time takes out 580
Main Blades ~ MICRO HELI FRPs (Flown FRPs & Carbons - feel the same)
Rotor RPM @ 98% 3100 (Idle 2)
Only limits I found are full L Rudder is affected by the gyro correction, and if the tail motor overheats, it's a wild piro'ing auto to a controlled crash...

Can you flip the tail motor to the other side? Then the wash will blow over the motor and keep it from overheating. We used to do this with the old hummingbird FP's, back in the day.

Must say I have one of these in the loft, got me thinking now I think the mainshaft is the same thickness as the Trex 250...and there are plenty of cheap Tarrot fbl heads about.
Good job.

Did both sides ~ found with the brushless motor that the prop load @ max RPM causes it to heat-up Real Fast. I could do a full RT piro, stop then a fast backwards pass OR tailslide & the motor would just shut-off.
Taking off just the 1/8" each tip seems to have stopped this.

Hope U give it a shot ~ using a higher-end radio with a 5 point 'curve' for REVO or Rudd>Throttle mix makes the tail setup pretty simple..

I am curious how it would work with a different brand of FBL controller. All my other ones are in service...

What about the esc for the 130x motor? I don't seem to see it in your list.

There it is

Hmm I seem to remember I have a few Turnigy plush 10's kicking about and a spare 130x motor as now Im running a Eox in the 130, a 25A no name plus BL main motor and some servos too infact everything...but I'm missing a FBL box...I usually use Tarrot ZYX's..I may give this a go after my vacation this summer, I'll post here if I go for it.

Alternatively, if you are just crusing around & don't do agressive flying, a 2500kv eFlite 180BL2 out runner will also work. Pict shows a stock SR prop, but 4"D x 4"P GWS prop worked better. The low kv don't react fast, but it will handle easy sport stuff...
