Anyone using this setup on a gasser with good results? Just wondering if it can handle vibes better than advertised. Thanks in advance

I got one in my hands

Put it on someone's Spectra but was unable to finish the final flight testing before leaving for IRCHA. When I get back I'll have a chance to play with it more. Its in a Minair Spectra-g.

DJI H

I had a DJI H on my ASI mongoose. work very good but the tail servo got very hot even with the tail turn down and every attemp to keep it from vibrations. I removed it and have since put a BLS251 servo on it but have not had the time to put the DJI back on it to try it out, maybe the better servo will take care of the vibrations and heat. I dont think it was intended to be put on a gasser?

There are a few YT videos showing the Naza-H on gas powered helis. Here is one...

Well it flies

But crashed by my own fault (I got confused with the switches !

JR GSR260 + Henson 260 Pro
Flybar + 800mm Spin blades
BLS256 Tail
Jr 8311 Cyclic
GV1
Futaba 8FG
Onboard Generator (Custom)

Needed SBD-1 so I could use the Gouverner on channel 9 and 10
Ch 9 = RPM
ch 10= ON/OFF

* SBD-1 is a nice thing but way too long

The story
It took about 10 hours to take it outside. the hardest part for me was getting the gov to work. and for some reason the pitch wasn't working either. Once the electronic responded it took quite a while to install all the wiring and make it neat too.
To software is nice to work with but I'd say the graphics are hard to see, de details are small so you need to look at them clossely to figure out the orientations. but the second time around it's much easyer.

When I took it out today I had reversed the rudder so I had to reconnect to the laptop and change that, then redefine the limits and in the feedback section I had to reverse that function too. I also re-calibrated the controls just in case that would have an effect too. What I'm saying if for most changes you need to go through the whole setup menu to check everything again, but's it ain't so long and I guess it's not worth skipping.

Normal mode was fine except for an up/down movement on hover very regular and no so fast real smooth, No woble.
Atti-mode had a slight trim issus ( probably flybar related)
GPS-mod was nice and stable.

I'll be getting my missing flybarless part next week but I'm not sure I'll be fixing it this time.. those 800mm blade are a killer on the wallet and a Pain to find.

I'm waiting on the guy

To have a new tail servo sent to my house for his heli to try out the Naza-H. I programmed it a while back and it ready, now I almost forgot what does what. I'll have to revisit and refresh my mind when I get the servo installed and ready to go.

the diagram show you have it hooked up to a external Govenor? the DJI has it own internal govenor and I have never had trouble with it. I of course use the sator gator on mine..for the sensor, the tail issues I was having was I need to move the ball link closer to the tail boom. The thing you have to be sure of is make sure the helicopter run's good before you put the system on,it does not like vibrations very much. This is the way I setup mine and had to basically learn on my own.

I was getting some problems, but basically recalibrate and that has seem to fixed it

...the DJI has it own internal governor...
The DJI WooKong-H does have an internal governor, but I believe that the DJI NAZA-H does not. An external governor is essential to allow the NAZA-H to work in Attitude and GPS modes. It holds altitude with collective pitch changes while expecting an external governor to maintain rotor RPM.

Naza-H doesn't have a Gov so it is required to keep the RPM steady while the Naza has control it does require a minimum of 10 channels for every functions to be available through the transmitter.

What I now have to figure out is how to get the mode to change to normal when I go to throttle hold !

Hello Guys....!

I am located in Athens Greece, have recently installed a Naza-H on my Trex700 Gasser (with the new G320RC engine) and it works fine on NORMAL mode, allowing me to fly it as I wish with light 3D etc.
But as I switch to ATTi mode, then heli starts to flip to a side (or forward)....to which side it will flip it depends on how strong I have strapped the unit down with a scratch tape, so I guess all is about VIBRATIONS.
I am not understanding of course, why all starts on Atti and not also on normal mode (if there is a vibs problem).
Anyone can suggest me a good doublesided foam-tape, to mount the IMU, to absorb the vibs?

Anyone with an experience on it would be welcome!

George
