I loaded up 300 pics late one night and all of them disappeared. I haven't had the real time to go catalog all this stuff in the new blog yet. I have built one off customs in several brands and have been shipping helis out all over the place for the last 5 years. 1000? Nope, just passed the 200 mark.
Those pics are just a few of the latest. Half of the ones are no longer in production anymore. The rest? Why post them up in the new Blog I just started btw? They are one offs no one is interested in other than the few that were involved. If you would like, I can post up close to a couple thousand more pics? I catalog each mod and each step done on each project.

Guys ship me helis or order them, I pick who I build for. I diagnose what they need to make them perfect. Then I often cut my own CF frames. Make my own shafts. Heads( I machined out my own DFC heads before any were available or even on the market yet) Main shaft supports, skids, booms, burn my own chips and gyros. Or have machinists I trust fab them up for me. I worked with Castle developing new Esc's and Scorpion in developing new 6s and 12s (450)class motors. I was running 6s in 450s 5 years ago. Look closer and you will find the very first 12s 450 over at RCG and also HF. It turned in full 25+ min flight times. Using one off factory prototype parts I designed.

I am working on 24s systems for the 6 and 700 class as we speak. I also wind my own motors as needed.

I have machinists all over the U.S. making me one off parts I use to advance the hobby and solve design issues in factory helis. Much like the Warp you mentioned. Including well known companies that I get the joy of testing prototype parts for. Basically I do this full time now. And the guys I build for get one off custom helis back. Loaded with perfect parts. Better frames, custom main shaft and tail shaft supports. Upgraded custom feathering shafts and bushings. Ceramic abec 5 to 7 bearings and even dual angular bearings. And tail systems that work with virtually no slop. Basically they send me factory junk and get back true one off customs. Or just cut me loose on a size they want and let me run with it. When finished I hard mount SK720s and vibe log the helis until they are perfectly vibe free. Under .020. A factory Align for instance exhibits vibes around mag 8 to 9 when tested this way. The average parts cost alone for one off builds like this usually come close to 1k just in upgrades. This is over the basic frame. I don't make a penny off that part of these. Since I do this as a service for a small group of fanatical heli owners who demand the best. And also machinists and factories that want me to critique and build new models for them. Or test new products. I regularly spend close to 10k a year out of my own pocket in design work on helis.

Go over to HF and take a look there. I have hundreds of posts and articles in the Trex. Eflite, Sab, Compass, Henseleit, Titan, Outrage, ect ect ect. Never touched an esky? I regularly conversed with most the well known builders and a few prominent heli designers and engineers. My early years at RCG I played with coaxial design while building CP helis and conversing over at HF. I designed the very first dual swash flybarless brushless boardless coax. And moderated the Vtail brushless thread, along with teaching guys how to burn their own gyromixers at RCG also. You may have missed those threads? Nothing factory about any one of those? The 500 version I am working on is more agile than any cp heli I have laid hands on and is slated to challenge the speed run this next spring.

My recent re arrival at RCG is due to this.

Will J gave me a forever time out when I critiqued the Warp. Even though the Warp is now using parts I designed in their new model! I was asked to run HF's official Warp mod thread during the building of this Warp prototype heli. It is one of HF's cash cows right now, and one of the advertising designers didn't like my write up. Most don't. I got banned without any notice, and critiqued Will personally as he was behind it. I told him he was more interested in money than truth.

Btw. This 420mm stretched 6s Warp has the very first prototype Scorp 2520 motor. Part of it is my design! It is now the #1 upgrade for Warp owners. I redesigned the flawed tension rollers. Brought several issues up that I had machinists and myself building parts to address. I also moved the canopy forward, Now a standard practice. Redesigned the lower canopy support and custom fabbed quick release canopy pins. I was also working with Castle on this project and other esc companies while testing them with the new motor. Wrote software patches to correct the phasing problems in Castles new esc. Since it was not phasing at speed. It hit the wall at 53% of its advertised specs. So I found a way to get these working at spec speeds with the new motor. Which btw has twice the phasing requirements. I also diagnosed issues with the motor and worked with Scorp in addressing them.

Then I redesigned the tail boom holder and the actual tail assembly. And now Warp is finally addressing some of those issues I brought up at HF. Hundreds of guys complained afterwards and had the issues I predicted. I Stretched the boom and installed a one off Kde dual slider assembly and tail shaft/gear/grips to solve the tail slop issues. Helihaven custom fabricated a proper tail hub for me. Then installed a new Herc Western Robotics bec. Redesigned the servo linkage, then installed ceramic abec 5 to 7 bearings throughout. MksDs95 servos and a SK720 to vibe log the heli during its testing stages. That one off prototype Warp gets full 15 minute flight times now during hard 3d and sport flying at 3200 HS pushing those MsComposite 420s. Hovers only pulling 5 amps with 15a peaks while producing 40% more torque than the factory Compass motor. And is virtually unboggable. It is also virtually vibration free!

Yeah. I worked on the Warp. Jeff Barrett at RcHeliCanada called me, pmd, and emailed me during this process for Compass getting current info during the process so Compass engineers could follow what I was doing. But they weren't happy I discarded their problem motor immediately during the process, I found serious flaws with. They later redesigned the motor trying to emulate my Scorpion. But failed. They also introduced a new thicker boom due to my writeup on the harmonics being transmitted downt the thin factory boom that would cause tail hub fracturing. Which happened. I also exposed over a dozen machining flaws with pics. Compass advertisers weren't real happy with me.

That was only one build.. Yeah, this is a long post, but you asked! What else do you want to know?

Oh yeah, you should see what I have done with the Goblin. LMH

I still have friends over there that I talk to daily. Miss the action as it was a fairly fast moving forum. I also miss the vibe logs and build questions the guys used to send me all the time. It was fun diagnosing them. Sorry for the long post. Double shot of caffeine and my morning pain meds. There is a reason I had to retire early. Plus, my big mouth has gotten me in trouble over there more than once. Brand loyal guys hated me. Especially the Trex crowd.

Plus, you got me thinking. I pulled the professional part off my sig. As I am burning out and thinking of not taking in any more projects for a while. Just enjoying my own and working on rebuilding my flying skills. LMH
