Today I installed the ZYX on my Trex 600N and it flies great. The only negative is that when hoovering the helicopter bounches up and down a bit.

Any ideas?

I have been flying these for a while

Exactly what do you mean by bouncing up and down a bit?

Is the whole heli going up and down or is it more of a rocking motion?

If it is rocking I have found that it is a damper and head speed issue, raise the head speed

If your flying in wind the wind will loft the heli as it passes under the disc and you have to lower the collective to compensate. I can't imagine the gyro has anything to do with the bobbing.

Could you have too much gain on the gyro?

They seem to function best when gains are tuned down to the point of not working for the heli, then 5 points up. The zyx factory default is 35 points across the board but I've lowered my gains to about 30 on my 450.

When attenuating a gyro you have to account for slop in the mechanical assembly, that little bit of play between the blades and the servos from dampers, bearings, geometry,

The wobble everyone experiences with the zyx, is due to turbulent air around the rotor disc and too high gains. How I discovered this was by hovering and when the wind crossed the heli from a different path it wobbled. I would fly the heli away from where it hit the wobble and it settled down. Foam core blades oscillate, we don't see the oscillation but it is there whenever you hear the rotor sounds. Try a heavier blade or weigh the tips of what you have now, worked for me.

good luck.

My 500 had a bounce up and down about an inch either way very irritating
I wound up adjusting the d gain equally I think I had to lower it a bit you just have to play with it a bit
After I found the sweet spot it fly's perfect

Thanks!

When you say that the gain might be too high, which gain do you mean then? I have lowered the gain on the frontpage to about 30 (pitch and roll) and I have about 80 on the D gain (main) in the advanced meny.

Should I mess with the RC deadband and gyro deadband?

adjust your d gain
You might have to lower it some little bit at a time works best
a field programmer works best for this because you can hover land adjust and then hover
