I have a Hitec X4AC Plus Charger. Earlier this week, I plugged in my 4 6S 5000mah packs to do a FAST charge option on all 4 charging channels. One of the channels reported that one of my packs had a bad cell that was not able to achieve more than 2 volts. I unplugged the battery right away, and made sure all the connections were plugged into the charger properly. Everything was connected fine. I retried the charge of that battery in the same channel, and it failed again. I figured the battery had just failed because this battery is a used Gens Ace 5300 mah battery that has a tired cell, and I figured it failed outright. Tonight, I plugged in one of my newer batteries into the same channel for another evening of flying and started the charge and it reported the same low voltage error of the same cell on my newer battery, and I became very suspicious. I plugged this battery into a different charging port and all cells were reporting just fine.
I tried the Gens Ace battery that failed the other night into a different channel, and that battery, that I thought had failed, charged just fine in this different channel. Something must have happened to the program in that charger port to cause the false read on that cell in this channel. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. So when I tried to charge that Gens Ace battery from a different channel tonight, and all 6 cells read normal and proceeded to charge, that was my clue that something was wrong with that charger port and I decided to reload the program which thankfully reset the problem. I was ready to kill a perfectly good battery pack that the charger reported had a bad cell.
