What if any are some methods of balancing a heli? Envisioned suspending it from the fly bar and observing which way it pitches. Anybody get this specific?

Not really sure what heli you are referring to, But for proper CG you can move the lipos forward or backward, You can use smaller or larger lipos, Use lead weights on tail or nose.

Nitro or any heli for that perspective.

Nitros should be balanced with half a tank of fuel.

Hold the heli on its side by the blade grips, the heli will pivot around the main shaft and show you if its balanced or not. You should swap between nose right and nose left if its an electric heli or disengage the pinion.

60% of the time, it works every time!

That method sounds odd not throwing stones but not sure I am able to hold the heli still enough to determine if the swing is me or balance....was that humor?

You don't need to be still. If the heli is nose or tail heavy there is nothing you could do to stop it or aid it pivoting.

Good sense I will try it. I have a 50 that has always wanted to pitch nose forward slightly. Never have put much into balancing but I will check all of them out. Thanks.

swash level?
If pitching o.e way always make sure the swash plate is level.

+2 for Richard
It is not a matter of being still.

Just grab the main blade holders, one in each hand and rotate the heli 90 degrees so that it is on its side. Gravity will do the work. What ever points towards the ground is the heaviest.

P.S. if it stays sideways, you are in balance.

All mechanical functions are level. Mainly only a prob with one not bad tho. Just curious as to know if this is something everybody does.

doing a slow/med piro is another way to check
for fb helis if the nose drops it's nose heavy or if tail drops it tail heavy

if you can remove the head button, then you can bolt and hang it by a chain

or put your fingers under the blade bolts (ouch need tough skin)

I saw a tool on the web
it had a flat piece of metal with a fridge level on it and was suspended by a chain it bolts in place of the head button.
forget who had it

spending time, paying attention
