Not everyone is exempted from owning military-style assault weapons under new legislation proposed by U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

Weapons used by government officials and law enforcement will not be prohibited by the law proposed by the California Democrat, which would prohibit the sale, manufacture and importation of 158 specifically named semi-automatic weapons and ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Any weapons legally owned before the bill’s enactment would also be exempt, although those firearms would have to be registered in a national database.

In addition, more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles and manually operated firearms would also be exempt.

Thanks for the post.

I am experiencing the same problem here in MA with the Governor. He sent a reply saying he feels moving forward with more limiting gun control and limiting the number of guns that can be purchased a year with a total ban of "assault weapons" is the only way to go. Keep in mind MA already extended the 94 ban by sneaking it into law as soon as the federal one sunseted baning high caps as well. We have some of the strictest gun laws in the country. A middle finger e-mail!

Of course they can still have access to whatever they want, do you think they're stupid? The servers are down due to all the comments about how useless the legislation they support is. If you don't support them they don't want to here it.

This is just great. Turds. All of them. Do as I say, NOT as I do. Is it time to start over yet?

This is nothing new, there are plenty of guns in California stores that I can not buy or touch that are on display, but an LEO can walk in and buy.

Maybe Kalifornia...I don't know; but I doubt being a LEO(other than departmental purchases) doesn't exempt them from the same federal regulations as everyone else except maybe magazine capacity.

More states than not allow for short barrel rifles, sound suppressors, machine guns(pre 1986),and AOW's(any other weapons) as long as you play by state and federal rules.

Just have to give the ATF your fingerprints, mugshot, background check, months of waiting,(7+last I checked) and most importantly $200 for a federal tax stamp each item registered.
