The Russian guy is not dead, his website manager is. The guy was apparently the fps russian guys cousin, and persons unknown shot him in the head, assassination style.

Warning...This hobby is very addictive and may damage your wealth

assassination style
i ****ing -hate- when people say this. "Execution style" too.

What is "assassination style"? did the garrote him in the head? shot his supper with poisoned bullets? they did it from a mile away with a high-powered rifle? did they pop up out of a manhole and waste him? There are thousands of ways to assassinate someone, and most of them don't even involve a gun. Even if you narrow it down to firearm killed only, there are dozens of locations you can shoot a man to kill him, and you could shoot most of them from any direction you pleased. This is one of the most non-specific terms i have ever heard.

"Execution style" is almost as bad. Even if we limit execution options to firearms, the most common method historically is "firing squad" and "shoot him through the heart". Even if we limit it to headshot executions, the jury is split pretty much 45-45 on front vs rear angle, with the remainder preferring a side-on shot.

I suppose it really doesn't matter what words are utilized now. Let the man be in peace and empathize with his family.

ShuRugal,RELAX you are overlooking the whole point, the man is now deceased,he did have a family.Does the word "Accident" also piss you off? It is also what you would say "non-specific term"

hell with the forest! this bloody tree won't get out of my way!

But yeah, i take issue with tacking on words like that to a tragic event like that because they are just media buzzwords intended to increase the fear response in the audience. "shot in the head" has become too commonplace, so now its "shot assassin style" or "shot execution style" to get people stirred up about rogue hitmen or murderous gangs. The words in that context don't say jack **** about how it was actually done, they just stir up public response.

The people missing the point are the folks who feel it was necessary to add the buzzwords in the first place: a man has been murdered, is that not sufficient reason to be upset, without adding vague implications of hitmen?

I had read somewhere he was found strapped into a chair and shot in the back of the head...what else should it be called other than what it was "murder."

The link below is not where I originally read about it; I will say that I have since read that he was found on the side of a road. Media spin???...maybe because the first reports I read were of him being tied to a chair.

Well media is media and so far from reality it is not funny. If you look at all the rediculous media hype on the word "assault" in regards to AR-15s what else would media have...nothing. If it had not had word assault in it half the active groups trying to rid of it would have nothing, nothing at all they don't even know what they're protesting for or against for that matter. Anyhow fps Russia well he's entertaining and probably not most politically correct no.

Man behind popular FPSRussia YouTube channel found dead

See link below for the video that aired on Fox News Atlanta.

http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/story/20538156/fpsrussia

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. -

A Georgia man behind one of the top 10 YouTube channels has been found dead. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of 32-year-old Keith Ratliff as a homicide.

Ratliff was mainly behind the scenes in the videos from FPSRussia, but he did occasionally appear in them talking about -- and firing --a high powered gun. The video have been view more than 500 million times on YouTube.

Ratliff also worked for FPS Industries in Franklin County, a company that makes weapons and weapon technology. He was found dead inside the business from a gunshot wound to the head, according to GBI spokesperson John Bankhead.

Levi Fox, a neighbor of Ratliff's, said he couldn't believe that he had been shot to death.

"They'd come over and talk to us and shoot off some guns. We'd both show off a little, show what we had," said Fox.

Fox said that he's a fan of the YouTube videos.

"He just takes really big guns and blows stuff up with them…shoots them and introduces a lot of people to new types of guns," said Fox.

Ratliff leaves behind a wife, Amanda, and a 2-year-old son, Keith.

"It's really heartbreaking, and everything I see, or any kind of memorable thing -- I mean, I just break down," Amanda Ratliff said. "He had such a life to live, and such a good life to live, and things to look forward to."

The GBI won't say if Ratliff's murder is in connected in any way to the gun business or the YouTube videos.

Being tied to a chair and shot would qualify as an execution, I think.

Keith Ratliff was the man behind FPS Russia's arsenal. From what I can tell he held a FFL manufacturing permit and thus was able to procure many of the weapons seen in FPS Russia's videos. I believe he was related to the FPS Russian guy in some way.

I know that many that will read this post never venture into the Off Topics News & Politics section of this helicopter forum and that's OK.

But I would like to say if you view this guy's videos you can see that he would be considered a enemy of this current administration and I think he was targeted and taken out.(yes it is possible in the USA)

This is just my own reading between the lines as you are not going to find any news outlet connecting the dots; but it's pretty obvious if you know anything of this story.

I hope many will realize that this is the "last call" so to speak for our country as we are already over the cliff in more ways than one.

I hope people are waking mad as there is a storm of biblical proportions about to occur.
