Anyone build one of Century's Blue Thunder kits? They are on sale with free shipping too boot and I was contemplating buying one but after reading the instruction manuals on line and seeing the plastic scale components in the pictures it started to look cheesy and cheap and kind of changed my mind. But seems like a decient deal as it includes the fenny, motor, and esc for it and be a perfect home for one of my shelved pod and boom helies I don;t fly any more. Anybody build one out there and whats the opinion of it??

700 Size Blue Thunder

It is not an easy build and there were some quality control issues with the original kit. The manual that it comes with is not helpful at all. That is why you don't see many of these flying.
Manuel from Brazil(Krumrick2) is a great scale builder and it is taking him a long time to produce a flying model.

Best of luck, should you take on this very challenging build.

Too late, big box is in the shop already. Don't know when I'll get around to the build but I did take all out of the box to inspect and look over. Model arrived in perfect condition even though the box had me worried, had a big hole puncehd through it and crinkled end to end but all came out of it without a scratch. It looks promising, looks updated from original TF kits I read posts on. I most likley will still tear fenestron down and check over its build, the rest is just fuse, I think if kept light it shoud fly, we shall see. THANKS for the post

They are made by smart odel or TF models. Checkout the rc aerodyne website. They have better details on the particulars of the kit. Also there are several build threads here on rr, try a search.greg

Only pics I took so far were day of receipt just in case I needed to file a damage claim. Hole punched in box missed every thing, whew!! Was well packed, none of the parts had a mark in them, not even any rub marks. I didn't have allot of time to play, just a quick check out late-late evening of receipt as Grandmom passed away same evening of receipt and was no time for toys since . Next time I unpack it I'll take some pics and post. After seeming a 430 Turbine build post on Scalehelies site it has sparked some flame on getting my Turbine 230 painted. It is all apart and painting it was supposed to be the winter project, so far except for rebearing the entire mechs and sending Turbine back to Jetcat for freshup and inspect then re-asembling the mechs thats as far as I've gotten. Me and painting just don't seem to connect???

Was not from Century, see this link

I have built this kit
it is by TF Models,
they have nothing to do with Smart models.
The pic on the Heli world site is actualy my Blue Thunder Flying,
they have stolen my photo ,
must have lifted it from a photo that i have placed on the web somewhere

TF Blue Thunder

For those of you who did not locate the Blue Thunder fuselage by TF Models on the Heli-World site, it can be found under the 700 size category scale fuselages (others), it is the only one there. In fact, it is now being offered on sale for $909.75. Part# TFMBT700101.
