Hello all,

I am about to install a vbar. Wanted to know if it would be bad to install a extension cable for the sensor. I am limited on sensor placement and the proposed location has the least vibration.

I have the full size Vbar silver line.

Thank you for your input

Just make sure to put a keeper or piece of heat shrink over the connector so it can't come apart.

If you skip me I can't play!

No issues but make sure you use the same gauge extension at least.

It has been done successfully but just be aware that it is susceptible to EMI (it's not a shielded cable) so avoid areas that may generate noise or static.

No, not really everywhere. It usually works fine but it is a signal wire so can pick up interference if bad enough.

All of the servo wires are subject to that too, and run all over a heli yet we seem to be alright with that? Or do you add shielded covers to all of your wiring?

I don't really know the difference in complexity or susceptability between the gyro sensor and a servo signal, but I would say the same for the servo. I'm not saying there is anything wrong in case that's what you're thinking. Just a note of caution. EMI has effected both and in many systems.
No different from suggesting to make sure the connection is secure as it may fall apart. What's the tension for?

A signal wire runs to each servo and Rx, and if the signal can travel in one direction, it can very well run in the other and back feed into the system.

Extensions on the VBar sensor is OK.
It has been tested with a 2 meter long extension.

Communication is digital, it has checksum, any EMI or other interference will show in the log.

Gone fishing..or hunting..or something
