Good day gents
I have a Outrage Velocity 50 with OS 50 sx-h Hyper with OS 55 carburetor with cline regulator. I'm running 30% cool power, can I safely run 15% cool power without any issues? Thanks...

Yes. You'll likely have to re-tune. No big deal. Watch your temps (use your fingers).

Edit: oh yeah, we're talking about 15% heli fuel right (does it even matter anymore with CP? I can't remember) ?

Okay, so when you say use your fingers, from my understanding OS engines run better between 200-215 degrees. So if it's cool to the touch I richen it up or lean it out,not sure. I have a local field but I don't have a lot of time, starting a new job and what not. But thanks for your help.

Touch the back plate after flight it should be hot to the touch but not burning hot, should be able to touch it for good few seconds. If not and its too cold lean it couple of clicks at a time, if its too hot richen it couple of click and then try again.
Goodluck.

With a Cline reg, you would be better off if you could find some of the low viscosity 15% fuel that has been made for the big block 120's.

I run 15% airplane fuel in everything. From my T-Maxx Truck to my helo. Just need to retune just this sid eof rich. Won't smoke as much either. Been running an OS .32 for 6 years with it and haven't needed a rebuild yet. If your screaming 3D get the helo specific fuel for all the oil you can get.

Heli fuel

I would NOT run airplane fuel in a heli. There is not enough oil. It will damage the engine. Regardless of flying style.

Heli fuel has more oil in it for a reason.

Depends on the brand and nitro content whether heli fuel has more oil or not. CP 15heli has the same oil content as CP 15 airplane fuel. CP 30heli and CY 30heli both have around 23 percent oil. CP has a new airplane fuel that has 18 percent oil, more than enough for sport flying. I have friends that have engines in helis that have run for years on 15 percent airplane fuel, they just don't have their engines set up screaming to the max for hard 3D. If you are wringing every last bit of power out of a heli engine, I'd certainly recommend fuel with over twenty percent oil but for sport flying you can reliably get by with less.

It should run extremely well on that fuel.

That's because us heli fliers have more money to waste apparently
Heli bits always seem to be more expensive
