I want a new motor but I cant decide between these two! Power wise there probably about the same so I quess ill make my decision based on flight time and quality. Looking for feedback from someone who has one or both. Thanks in advance!

I have owned both. IMO the Scorpion makes better power. The new Ultimate doesn't run firecracker hot either. The Quantum (Xera copy) does well, but Scorpion has edge on torque. Quantum on price.

My opinion

I've run both motors quite a bit ...

the Quantum and scorpions make about the same power...there is no discernible difference in the "feel" of the power...I also run the larger 4530 Scorpion motors and they make the same power as the Quantum/4525...the ultimate doesn't make more torque than the larger Quantum 4530 either ...at least i don't think so.

these motors make so much power that unless you really crank the headspeed and pitch you're not going to be able to harvest the full potential of the motor anyways.

I'm a huge fan of the Scorpions but they run hot...at least hotter than the Quantum 4530's I have been running.

My Quantums land at right around 120 Degrees with an ambient of 70-80 Degrees...the SAME exact heli with a Scorpion 4530 lands at right around 150 degrees...the Ultimate is about the same ..runs around 150-160 with a hard flight.

the heat isn't an issue but they run warmer than the quantums.

The quantums are a decent motor for the money (they are a rebranded Xera after all)

as for flight times...its hard to say exactly...you'd have to fly the same style to really get an accurate reading...but my feeling is that the Quantums is slightly more efficient...but not by much

I sold my Ultimates and kept the Scorpion 4530's I have ...I personally will not buy anymore of the 4525 ultimates...just not worth the money...

but that's just my .02$

FYI...here's the ultimate next to the Quantum 4530/then a scorpion 4530/quantum 4530

and here's the 2 machines I was running back to back for testing of the different motors....I spent a LOT of time testing these different motors out
