Doing a loop from a level accelaration low to the ground takes balls. Not brains.

Can someone tell me why he could not pull out of the loop.
It looked like he had more than enough room to do so.
hope he survived!

full scale helis do not have the capability (the blades) to support the weight of a helicopter inverted. They will snap. The recovery from a 9 loop takes a good deal of space, so as not to snap the blades.
Seen almost loops, and rolls (look like barrel rolls) with the Redbull heli but never a full loop. Not saying its not possible, but I don't think its advisable.

I would think, the pilot would have to finesse the heli around to get it level and stable at some altitude. Simply not enough space between him and the ground. It doesn't look like this guy would have much chance of survival here.

Thinking that's a MD500C (V-tail)...well, was an MD500C. (D/E/F have the T-tail)

The MD500 has a fully articulated rotor head and in this case I'd put money on catastrophic failure towards the bottom of the loop (highest G loading). If the head itself didn't fail...I'd say one or more of the blades did. They are made from aluminum.

The 'Red Bull' helicopter (BO-105) has a 'rigid' rotor head and composite blades and can handle higher G loads than an MD500...but you still won't see it doing 'hard / tight' loops. More like back-flips.

When in doubt...auto out

(BO-105)
500Driver, I believe you, but the funny thing about that, is, that the Sea Stallion has been looped, such a big and heavy heli and it can loop, but smaller ones can't
