I've used several FBL systems in the past, and had the most success with BeastX. BeastX has taken more setup and tweaking than I thought necessary, so I got a Gaui micro V-bar and put it on my Veloctiy 50 with a YS 56.

First of all, the setup was so easy I thought I'd skipped a bunch. Everything checked OK so I tried a test hover. Smooth as silk, but lacking in agility, so I took my cyclic ATVs back out to 100 (I'd pulled them in because I though the cyclic movement was too much). Then it really started flying well. The tail was spot on, no cyclic drift or any other issues. Plus, it has a great natural feel to the sticks and it's a joy to fly.

The only thing I can complain about is a slight porposing in high speed forward flight, so I took the cyclic gain down to 60 and it does it less, but it's still there.

I"ll be buying more of them, that's for sure.

Doubt it's the gain, Do you have Pro on this? start with run the optimiser for a flight or two.
and then also check swash expert settings.

I don't have pro, but it's version 5.3 on the software. As I understand, you have to buy the PRO software at additional cost, right?

Ya you buy the pro, I just did and the optimizer is the best thing ever... But I had a normal mini which was 45, I think the gaui is more expensive to upgrade

They both fly very well, but the V-bar had a nice "dialed in" feeling from the first pickup to a hover. I've set up 5 or more BeastX units and they took a while to feel anywhere near that.

Yeah you save a little in the front end on the Gaui unit but you pay way more for the upgrade. Those are designed to be bundled with the Gaui Helis so some of the funtionality is left out.
I am not 100% sure on this but I think that unit is not made by Mikado cometely....again not sure.
Not sure that the setup wizard is the same as well but nice to know the legendary Mikado performance is still there

Go pro and you'll even be more impressed. Vbar is something you have to try to know as you did. Many like what they have and never know the real goodness that exists.

On top of the flight quality, you must try the governor, especially on nitro! This is amazing, try the pitch reduction function. Your engine will become unboggable...

Is it me or this time the ground was higher than last time??

I'm wondering what the "more setup and tweaking than you thought necessary" is all about?

I know fbl systems are personal preference but I simply couldn't imagine and doubt it is even possible to have a fbl system that is easier to setup and get flying to your liking as the beastx! It is pure genius!

Some people don't like counting lights and looking at a manual to interpret said lights. The VBAR wizard can be done without reading a manual

No counting lights and only one quick setup sheet about 4" square needed!

Don't know which one you setup but the two I had, I had to count the lights to see which version I had and then I knew what manual to use. If you have never seen one before and tried it, you could figure it out but there is no walk through.

No never had to do that! It does walk you through it just on paper rather than on a screen A, B, C, D... etc.

I get why there are vbar fans. Horses for courses.

Such a negative cuss Richard . Have you tried latest vbars? I know your a nitro guy surely you'd really appreciate the governor it's unbeatable really.

And vibe logs, governor all things beast don't have and more. There are options for many out there and unless you try all of what's out there tune it to best of your ability no way to knock something else. The vbar setup is not only easy it confirms fully your mechanical setup, geometry and more its intuitive. Hasn't always been no sir but surely is now days.

I haven't said anything negative about the vbar here.

Only negative comments have been about the beastx which I am merely sticking up for.

I have no doubt the setup is simply on the vbar BUT I have only this afternoon setup an ar7200bx on my 450 in literally 5 minutes. Can it be done so quick on a vbar from opening the box to flying? Serious question?

Too much hanging with Bob Just joking
I get the BX is a quick setup for some but it is limited in feel as well as features. Decent FBL system if you are just getting in, but IMO it can't hold a candle to the VBAR. Yes I am a fanboy, but I have owned the Beast so I am not coming out of left field here.

Hey, someone just pointed me here. Is there some high school level childishness going on...I don't see anything.

Let's see, this is another BX sucks and Vbar rocks thread huh. A lot of ignored posts but I know what they all say.
All I see is BX - 5min and V-bar 6-7 min.
So? I don't care, what would this have to do with me?
