Hi guys I m new to this forum, and I have just built a Furion 450.I took all proper measurments in the setup of the heli, but I am having trouble, with a bumping in the swash plate. As I spool up the rotor head with a super soft start with my ice 50,I have a very small wobble in the head, and if I lay a finger on the swashplate I can feel the swash make a gentle bumping feel and if you look at the swash up close, you can see it moving around very little.

Now I have taken the head appart all the way down to the swashplate and spooled the heli up,and the main shaft runs smooth and streight, again performing the same test with a finger on the swas h reveals a smooth running drive train, but as soon as I install the first piece, witch is the washout hub assembly with the A arms and washout arms attached this small sharp thud in the swash appears. Now it seems common sense that since both washout arms mount on the center hub at opposing ends of it,and the short end of one of the arms face the longer part of the other, there should be a slight imbalance here witch is felt at early rpm? And therefore this small dadadada feeling starts.

As I install the rest of the head is when I notice the very small wobble in the head witch smoothes out at a little below mid stick, although you can still feel the knocking in the swash untill you approach full throttle,in witch it goes away.

I have even tried another brand new rotor hub and it too did the same thing.I also installed the washout base and assembly and just the upper rotor hub with no blade grips installed or anything, just the upper rotor hub to try and rule out and uneven feathering shaft or what not,and it still had a very small wobble untill the head got up to speed.

Now I have a beam E4 FBL and it has no wobble no where,my Mini titan E325 v2 FBL has a tiny wobbly also, but I can't feel nothing in the swashplate.I also have a cheap Erazor 450 pro and it has a worse wobble than any of them but I don't feel it in the swash plate.

It seems common sense that if you have a wobble in your head, that you should be able to feel it in the swash a bit but these others dont do that.Have any of you experienced this with your Furion 450? For the life of me a can't find the problem, some other furion owners said thta they too have a small wobble in there Furion head but don't feel it through the swash? Can someone please help me?

I have mine set up FBL using stock parts, so that may be different than yours. There is no wobble when it spools up but I have seen perfectly smooth and balanced helis wobble a little before they build up some RPMs. Maybe try using a different # of shims in the head?? I am using none and it seems to be working for me.

Other than that check all of the usual suspects:
bent spindle or main shaft
flybar is same distance out of each side
everything balances out
belt isnt twisted inside the boom

It should be smooth as silk.

Yes I have taken the head and swash appart many times,I just installed a new main gear and main shaft, and still the same. This main gear wobbles less than the old one,but I think you should feel the wobble of the main gear in the swash shouldn't you? Although some other guys said that there main gear wobbles but they don't feel it in the swash?

Also I want to make sure I'm just not too OCD.with your rotor head fully up to speed should the heli be s smooth as a blow dryer in your hand or is some vibration normal? Not enough to shake anything but if you put the heli on a table you ll hear ZEEEEEEEE.......a very fine buzz.....without blades installed.....normal or should the heli sit silent and still? I find that hard to believe that there ould be not the finest buzz but what do you guys say? Maby I'm being too much.

I would suggest talking to MA about your problem. It is possible you have a bad swashplate or a bad bearing. There service is second to none and I am sure they would help you out. Also double check all of your rod lengths, make sure you have the correct geometry and make sure nothing is binding on you.

Yeah I called MA,and I told them about my problem, and the lady told me? TO buy a new swash or main gear or shaft, after telling her that the swash was the problem,

So from my post before this one,I should not hear a slight buzzing while the heli is at full speed sitting on the table?

Your Furion 450 should be smooth a glass when spun up without blades. Mine is.

Why don't you post some detailed pics of your heli's head so we can take a look. As the old saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words."

Shore, guys I will try and post pics,I just got this tablet and am still learning to use it.

My head does spool u really smooth but there is a fine resonance or vibration.

So this should have a turbine smooth rotation? Why do a lot of articles about heli vibration say that a tiny vibe is normal, and you will never get rid of all of it?

Basically I had the entire head off for diagnosing, and I got all the way down to leaving the swashplate and mixer hub assembly on,and if I stop the mixer hub and arms from spinning, and just let the main shaft spin through the swash and mixer hub, there are no tiny vibes, its as smooth as a turbine, you can't feel nothing spin.

Once I release the mixer hub,and let the assembly spin,is when I feel this small detdetdetdetdetdet...its very small BUT STARTS ONCE I ALLOW THE MIXER HUB TO SPIN....WHAT DO YOU THINK

What I noticed is that the pulse of the vibe or little datdatdat I feel in the swash plate is at the same tempo as the main gear riding up and down the pinion.

I have a wobble even in my new main gear and I found that the amount it moves up and down the pinion'basically the way the gear rides up and down the pinion is the same pulse I feel in the swash.

Is it possible to feel the main gear warp in the swash? Because when I look at the lock collar undernieth the top bearing block I can see it do a slight wobble and it makes sense that this would be felt in the swash or no?
