I just finished testing the HP10S motor in my 130X. I had just tested the HP08S and tested the Spin 8800 and 8000. NOTHING has come close to this motor. It performs amazingly. Real tic-tocs, real hard stop rainbows, smack pitch pumps, nothing I could throw at this could really phase it. The only thing I could get any sort of bog on was a really full pitch hurricane. It slowed the head but only to a point, it kind of got to a grunt point and just held (albeit at a diminished head speed).

I haven't tried an external ESC at all on this, this is still with the factory all-in-one board. I tried my tests on all of these motors with 4 different battery types (x2 of each of the batteries):

Protek 480 mah 35C advertised
Lectron 450 mah 40C advertised
eFlight 350 mah 25C advertised
Turnigy Nano-Tech 450 mah 65C advertised

The best performance out of any of these motors and on any of these packs was the Protek with a close second being the Nano-techs. I do not like the Lectron or the stock batteries, they just don't have the grunt to really match up to the other two. They didn't show their lack of grunt with the stock motor but really started falling behind with the Spin 8000 and then faded bad on the HP10S.

I'm running the HP10S on a 10T pinion with the Astro carbon stiffener for the motor mount. The motor is kinda bulky, I forgot to weigh it before I mounted it but it is at least half again as heavy as the Spins.

Anyway, just thought I'd share what has immediately become my favorite mod on the 130X, it really flies big now!

Looks good! I am using the 8800 spin with 10t pinion and have been very happy with it. Always looking for more tho!

this motor is half the weight of the spins?...or the other way around?

Other way around... It is about 1.5 times the weight of the spins (seat of the pants guess). It has some serious mass to it for such a small motor.

I love the speed of the 8800
But it completely let me down in maintaining head speed through maneuvers. It would be a great motor for big sport stuff though.
