Well; its on again!

This is probably the last contest the WC team pilots will have a chance to fly in front of judges before they "go for the gold"!

Sportsman, Advance and Expert classes will also be flown.

Ans, YES, FBL models will be able to participate in all classes.

Time is near !

The Music City Championships are only a few weeks away.

For those wanting to get some good preparation before the US Nationals; this is the place to get it! Additionally, it will be the LAST contest the WC team pilots will have a chance to get in front of judges to get ready for the World Championships in Poland.

Anyone wanting to try this for the first time; we will have plenty of world class plots more then willing to help with contest maneuvers and set up; bring your stuff and fly!

Wobble vs. Bobble

.
In the Competition Regulations, para. 28.12 Smoothness, reference is made to various imperfections in a flight.
.
How will the judges differentiate between a Wobble vs. a Bobble, and which one would get me a larger downgrade?
.
Is there a video I can reference?

No judge that I know of including myself is going to downgrade one termed problem with smoothness more than another solely based on its name or definition. We tend to group it all into overall perception of whether the model is moving gracefully from one point to another versus bouncing, jerking, or rocking either in movement or while sitting over the cone. The more the model appears unsettled, the worse the downgrade. There is no provision for wind, BTW. I will tell you that most of us know well what a slight rotor head "nod" looks like on some models when they are sitting in the wind and we will tend to, for the most part, overlook that unless it is really obvious. In those cases, I would personally just apply maybe a 1/4-1/2 point downgrade once for the entire maneuver for that one issue and leave it at that. You can look at some of the videos of the Nats and WC's here on RR to see the kind of slight nodding to which I am referring. It can be a real bear to get it out of some set ups.

600?

Absolutely! Bring whatever you are most comfortable flying your schedule with. I've seen a pilots do very well with models smaller than a 700. Practice is what really matters.

Great Weekend Indeed

Thanks Tim and Robert! Amanda and I had a great time. Lots of good practice and I really appreciate the constructive criticism Been a big help preparing for the WCs. I now have a new list of things to work on...

Got to thinking Sunday, we all fly the schedules without much drama these days. Should be more "entertaining" next year when we have to learn the new ones with FBL!!

Hope to see everyone again at Nob's event.
