So at one time many many months ago - many - I thought I read that some packs fit the Whiplash, and some do not.

I am looking to put the biggest packs in that will fit. 5000mah. 5300? Bigger???

I don't care about wieght. I currently fly a 700 Nitro, so with today's electric motors, this thing will put out far more horsepower than my nitro could ever dream of.

So I am looking at run time, run time, run time. And batteries that fit.

What do you recommend???

Do those new Thor Packs fit? What size?

Thanks guys!

GensAce 5300's fit very well, in thru frames with no issues, don't have to take the canopy off.
The Pulse 5000's fit as well, but are longer and you do need to remove canopy for installation.
Some of the Turnigy 5000 packs will fit, depending on how the battery leads are done from manufacturer. I have one set that fits tightly and one set that doesn't fit at all.
There are also some FlightPower packs that will fit, same size as the GensAce but 4350 mah.

I use the gens ace 5300's as well, they fit right in through the side of the heli. I get about 5:30min out of the packs at 2100rpm. Thats not really beating the crap out of it though.

I also have some thor 5000's I use too. Have to take the canopy off for those. I slide one in through the front and one through the back, then the rear of the batts touch each other cause their so long. Flight time is about 5:00min with those.

Hope this helps .

How are the Gens Ace holding up compared to the Thors?

Are they puffing? Are they holding their power for the full flight?

We've had some issues with some Gens Ace hard packs with rc trucks is why I ask.

And the Thors are supposed to be really good.....

Thanks.

You need to be careful what packs you get, right now the GenAce 5300's are the ideal packs.

Due to the very narrow frames you are limited to choices in batteries and then if you want to have the packs enter from the sides or in stick configuration from the rear.

The Turnigy Nano-tech 5000 45-90C batteries fit easily and have worked with no issues. Not an endorsement since I have not owned Gens Ace or others to compare them to.

The hash marks are the number of times these batteries have been flown. As you can see the GA batteries have been flown quiet a bit more, but they are all still holding good power. The GA 5300 have been through 2 crashes and all 4 GA packs have an internal resistance of 10-12 ohms. I haven't had the Thor packs very long which is why they haven't been flown much.
