Can not get enough of this heli, flew it at an indoor event yesterday. Flying it outdoors today in 15mph winds. Pulling fast inverted hurricanes at crazy speed and the tail just stays hooked. I'm now just beating it senseless with everything I can throw at it, the motor just keeps screaming along and the tail keeps on holding on.

0 crashes in 3 days is unheard of for how hard I am pushing this thing, all my smaller helis eventually give (usually power or tail) this mcp x bl just works. Definitely better than any 130x I have ever flown...

flying 3:15 on and battery is coming down at 3.7 volts putting 170mah back. Still running 100-80-100 Throttle and reduces pitch.

This is not a tight indoor living room flyer, it needs room to run and that is where it really shines

Why is it not a tight indoor living room flyer? Because of the slow flip/roll rate?

60% of the time, it works every time!

I think mainly because both the higher power and headspeed may be a little hard on the furniture. Never liked flying my mcpx v2 in the living room either. No problem inside a 2-car garage though, lol!

High headspead, stupid power, slowish cyclic rates. You could turn the power down I guess. The nano is a better living room flyer.

edit found some close 3d. does great.

Here's question for ya'... For those using a non-100% throttle curve, are you using any cyclic-to-throttle mixing? It would seem appropriate to do so.

Thanks,
John

I used those mixes several times on other birds. This thing doesn't really bog enough to make it worth while to program it up. At that point I would just go 100% straight curve.

Surely the cyclics can be sped up by cranking the DR's up?? My Nano's pretty quick but then I have my DR's at 115%.

60% of the time, it works every time!

I'm running 120% on travel for cyclic. Im pretty happy here, still not near as fast as the nano, but it doesn't need to be for how I'm flying it.

120 on ATV's have you tried upping DR's though?

As far as I understand it they are the same thing more or less. The channel only has so much available output(150?!?).

These should all be the same

travel 110 dual rate 110
travel 120 dual rate 100
travel 100 dual rate 120

travel 150 dual rate 120 = 180 not usable???

I choose travel because in the past I've used radios that limit dual rate to 120% and travel goes to 150%

I guess the real question is how much travel input can the as3x understand and still make a difference?

I am running idle one at 85 flat with 15 cyclic to throttle mix.
Travels are all 100 except for rudder is 125 aileron and elevator are 115.
Dual rates are 125 on aileron and elevator with 10% expo on both my idle two is the same just flat 100 with no mix.

I'm not seeing any complaints about any weired vibrations or problems with these yet. My mcpx v2 gets vibrations from time to time and there could be a whole book written on different causes and fixes for it... so is the BL good as far as that annoying type of stuff goes?

Brain approved - GO BUY ONE! (or two)
That's all I needed for me to buy mine

The only weakness I see is the canopy
As one crash and you couldn't use it any more but the other mcpx v1 and v2 canopy worked so no big deal there

Besides the canopy, how are they holding up in a crash?

So I was out today rounding up odds and ends for my Radikal G20 build and there it was like out of my dreams stacked 4 high on the floor of my not so local hobby shop it said mCPX BL on the box.

So there I stood with arms spread wide doing my spin feeling proud to be THE MAN only missing the robe and the GOLD I tilt my head back

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Ok back to reality and a flight report.

They also had more batteries and a parallel balance charge board I can use on my 130X also.

I didnt fly it hard I believe in breaking in batteries for a few flights. I cant get over how easy and effortlessly it would flip and roll. My gentle collective nudges to keep it from falling in a flip and roll caused it to climb 20 foot in the process. It has enough power to give some to its non BL brother and make it a beast too. I do agree with people that say the roll rates are too slow the rudder in particular. I also couldnt get over how quiet it was spooled up. The canopy does suck I almost broke it removing it. Thank You E-fflite I am very happy with my purchase and i look forward to getting more time on it.

EDIT The tail did what it was told during all flights even in 12-18 mph gusty winds. You could hear the tail motors rpm increase when hit by a gust of wind but it held. I will put some backwards inverted flight on it in due time(in the morning) but I think it will handle it.

ENGAGE!!

Sounds great 11-B!

I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered. Supposed to happen yesterday but it got delayed because of all the flooding we've had over the last 3-4 days. Hopefully will arrive today, fingers (and toes) crossed.

Those Blade plastic canopies are all very fragile for sure. The old Mikado plastic ones were not much better either, lol! I've found the best thing to do is to line the inside of these canopies with a layer of clear packing tape. Does not add any significant weight and really toughens them up imho.

Cheers,
TomC

Finally got my mcpx-bl from ModelFlight this afternoon. Took it down to the local sports field and had 3 flights, including a really hard crash. Overall, I love it! Cranked all the rates up to 125% and switched over to the high performance blades (non-bullets) and this seems pretty good to me.

The hard crash (full speed nose-in @~20 deg) resulted in a popped (and lost) pitch link. I was a bit worried because when I replaced the link and fired it up again the elev servo did not respond. Turned out that the elev servo board connector (top left) had popped out a bit but still looked connected. Just pushed it back in an all was fine.

130x like power and crashes like a mcpx. What more do ya want, lol!

Cheers,
TomC
