Can anyone explain the MIN/MAX page to me? I cant seem to find anything in the manual that explains this.

i run temp, speed and alt, so when i go to the min/max it's telling what happened on that flight in regards to the minimun and maximum readings that took place.

helps me out on engine temp (i fly a gasser) so I know what the temp is when I took off and then what the max temperature was during the flight

for the speed, it's just kinda kewl to see what my max airspeed was

hope this helps

Thanks for the response bud.

I'm flying a gasser also and just installed and started using the TM1000 with temperature sensor and receiver pack voltage.

What confused me about the MIN/MAX page was I expected to be able to re-zero the values. Does it reset when the radio is turned on?

Is it the GPS unit that you need to get the speed and altitude?

Where did you mount your temp sensor and what range of temps are you seeing? Is having access to the engine temps helpful in tuning?

haven't tried resetting, with the radio on, thinking about it, it might reset if I hit clear.

it does reset when I turn the radio on and off

for speed and altitude, it's two separate sensors not GPS

as far as using the temp sensor for tuning, I'm not educated enough on tuning to give an opinion. I just like to make sure that i'm not getting the engine too hot and from what I understand it shouldn't get more than 310°F I usually range from 175°F-292°F I don't like to have it hit 300°F for me. I use this information along with the color of my spark plug to tune my engine of course along with how it sounds

I mounted it 3rd or 4th fin back from the spark plug, it's wrapped around the cylinder head

Ahh okay. You can measure speed and altitude with the GPS unit also but I see it's measuring GROUND speed. True air speed would be more fun to know.

Is that a pitot tube I see on the airspeed indicator unit? Where did you mount that? On your skids?

yep a pitot tube I mounted on the bottom side of my canopy holder on the nose. My mongoose (and two others that I have seen) velcro the canopy so that the ledge with the velcro is on the bottom of the canopy but on the outside of the canopy, so my pitot tube is mounted on the bottom ledge. i'll post a picture it's kinda weird reading this
