I have this setup per the manual for my radio. And it's a hand full, of course I knew it would be. I'm not even ready for idelup, does anyone have some settings for the dx8 that would make it a little tamer? I tried the dual rate expos, but 1,2 seemed to make it worse, I guess those are for the flight mode 1,2.

just keep increasing with the dual rates until you can get it under control. I wouldn't mess with the expo, but then I like my stuff totally linear. Now that I got the hang of mine, I hate the dual rates and won't use them. I've got mine so it will pretty much hover hands off now...... many trips into the living room walls later.. .

Thanks fla heli boy

I flew it for the first time today one battery. I flew a few laps around the field. Then up near the house, crashed into a pill of gravel. No Damage!!! It's squirly for sure. Expo is at 30% may try 35 on Ele/Ail.

Dual rates is that just differant settings you can dial in for expo in the other flight modes. So you can set expo on idel up 1,2 if you want it active in those modes?

yep, you can set them for each individual switch setting. Mine are different for all 3. I used the setting that came with the nano and then just adjusted a bit from there. I don't typically use any expo, but that's just my personal taste.
Yeah this thing is tough!!! My mcpx will throw links if I even get close to anything hard. The nano flys full blast into just about everything and the most I've ever had to do was snap the landing gear back in place.

I was scared today at first that it was going to break by crashing very lightly on field grass. lol I need to make sure my throttle hold works, I guess that works on electrics. Never used it before. I usely if I see a crash in place, wait till it's close to the ground and dump the throttle. But I also know that applys neg pitch to bring it down even faster.

fwiw..

Helps to set the Hold pitch curve to 50% flat...Unloads the disc, minimizes damage from those unscheduled landings...

I don't know why, but when I dump my mcpx and haven't hit the TH, it will chicken dance like it should, but with the nano it doesn't. I pick it up, switch back to N and it spools right back up. Weird. I've yet to even pop a link on the nano.
