I live in Jax, Fl and fly at JaxRC field almost every Sunday. I don't recognize your member name.

I have a Real Flight 3 that I will donate if heli_jon's offer of the v4.5 falls through.

When you were here there would be 20 to 30 helis at the field on a Saturday or Sunday. Now we're lucky to have 8 helis show up. The club officers changed over and the new group were 3D plankers. There were a lot of converts and helis just disappeared.

There are still a few of us die hards who still take a scale or Trex 600 or 700 out but the real 3D pilots don't show on the weekends much anymore. So, if you come back we still have 2 runways; one for planks and one for helis.......there's a lot of room on the heli runway these days

Hang in there.

This hobby is WAY too expensive!!

Hey FloridaHeli

I was not into RC back when I lived in Florida... I moved away from there in '96. I would love to get involved in a club or something, I always tended to fly by myself, as my places where I have lived tended to be out in the boonies... if I ever get back to Jax I would like to check out your club there...

And thanks for the offer on RF 3, I'll let you know. I used to have Aerofly and also Reflex XTR and they were both good... I need to spend more time on the sims than anything right now, would do me a world of good.... thanks for the shout.

I know the feeling. I used to have several heli's, couple 450 sports, a pro, a 700, and a 550. Now, after a Castle Creations ESC failure, the 700 is gone, then after getting divorced, I have nothing, wife took it all, and I'm now disabled due to a diabetic amputation, so any chance of getting even upgraded is out the door. I had been saving up for a while to get a FBL DFC upgrade for my new (to me) 550e, and then my friends father who was also like a father to me passed away suddenly. So, that all went to helping with the funeral and such. But hey, life will get better, and I'm sure that after another year or so of scrounging and saving, I'll be able to get a DFC kit and a Spektrum AR7200BX. It's been a pretty lousy year considering Wayne's death and everything that has followed, but I have some fond memories, and it's a new year Had I anything worth donating, I would be more than happy to, sorry I can't help the cause.
Best luck with getting back in the air.

Hey MnNightFlyer,
Man your situation sounds like you are working through some really rough times, sorry to hear all that. Mine was mostly self-inflicted, psychological crap, and like you a divorce in the midst of it all. I will keep you in mind bro for any help I can send your way as things improve for me *I hope they improve! It is a new year and I am optimistic that the worst is over, and now its a matter of trying to steer past the negative garbage that still tries to suck me back down into a pit. It will get better!

I have the sense that you are keeping your strength up right now, focusing on your health... like you are considering a move or something even. Some emotional stuff from the past still there probably...that can be a pain. SOMETHING good is coming for ya... a change of work or something and I believe you'll see a major improvement financially soon. You are on the right track, keep dreaming of that DFC and the AR7210BX like keep pix of the them around all the time. THat helps me just keeping a picture around, and dream dream dream that's what makes it happen. Faith for tomorrow! (My issues had to do with I didn't know what in the world I was hoping for! I had forgotten the FUN i had in RC and the problems became the focus, and that only makes it worse. So getting the RC dream going again is doin me a world of good... I will be thinkin about you... You'll have the equipment before you know it!

Hey Palouseflyer, go to the Spokane swap meet, usually in March or April, plenty of good deals to be had if you can scrape a couple of bucks together. You can get info on it at B&B hobbies. It's held in a church up north off of Division in the Windermere area. If you want to meet some good people you can make the trek to Farragut State Park east of Athol, our flying field is in the park and anyone is welcome.

That sounds great, I heard about the Farragut park being the site for some sort of annual fly event.

Hey I have been overwhelmed by the generosity here, and wanted to say thanks to all for your offers to help out. I think I will wait and see how things go for a while with what you guys have offered to give me (don't need anything more I need to get back on my own two feet). I want to return the favor somehow, I'll think of something... you guys are amazing, I am enjoying just feeling like I am getting back to some sort of stable life again in the company of good friends... best to everyone.

Dude keep your chin up always...

I retired from the Army and had plans for a great life. Well divorce changed all that and quick!

Lost everything and ended up living in my car for awhile. To say I wanted to die is an understatement. Then a woman who became my best friend got me back on my feet and stable again.

Five years later I bought her a new house and then married her, in that order. She supports me in my hobby and tags along whenever possible to flying meets. So what I am saying is that a new better life is possible and I pray yours gets there soon.

I will make an offer to you. When you finally decide to get flying let me know and I will contribute something you need to get you going so let me know when you're ready.

Wow, came across a guy today that wanted an old UPS I had for a computer server rack, so I got my beastX and my 600 upgrade pieces for my heli! Converted my 550 to a 600, and installed beastX, now all I need is a DFC kit and the blade grips to go along with it. EFFIN WOOT!

MNN,
I would say that is very bad. I hope that you haven't tried to fly it that way. The fly bar will be fighting the Beast and vise versa.wait until you get the FBL head for it.

Unless you use the BeastX as a stand alone tail gyro which is possible although if I recall correctly a special adaptor is needed to use it that way? Not sure there though.

I'd look into that. Logically you should be able to if you simply don't plug your cyclic servos into the Beast.

Bx can be used as a stand alone tail gyro.
You need a different tail servo/Rx harness that can be purchased wherever Bx is sold.
Just have to go thru the setup according to the manual. Very easy & works great.
Not sure about the AR7200 Spektrum Bx though.
