New firmware is available.

MAKE SURE you backup your models to SD Card first because this is a fairly comprehensive update that adds features introduced in the XG-11

There's no list of changes yet so I'm not sure all what it does to the heli side but the giant scale plankers will love it.

I was able to search Horizon and down load it last night. When I tried now, it is not working! If anyone wants it, PM me your email and I can send it to you.

That PDF has a working file link.

This is different than the one that came down the first time I think.

http://www.jrradios.com/ProdInfo/Fi...002-0100_v2.zip is the direct link, I think they changed something because the original filename didn't have v2 in it.

I just finished doing the update and there's not much. The only thing I see new is I can select where I want the switches to be assigned Not sure if that feature was there before...I think before I was only able to enable the switches or not, but not really assign it. Pretty neat feature, go to the switch menu, select the switch, and flick the switch where you want the channel to be. I like it. Good thing I didn't really have any models I wanted to save in the first place haha.

Oh looks like switch assigning was already there before. I never messed with it or read the manual till now lol Nothing much really changed then I guess. I bought mines when it was DSM2 and never update it to DSMX. I wonder if the software updates changes from DSM2 to the newer DSMX?

READ BEFORE UPGRADING
Please read the entire PDF BarracudaHockey posted.
from the pdf:
Due to a change in file formats, updating your 11X to version 0002-0100 will reset all of the stored model data on the transmitter. Any previous version of 11X model files (0001-xxxx) will not be compatible with the new software. Model files will need to be manually re-entered after the update process.

NOTICE: Once the update is installed, DO NOT attempt to revert back to standard 11X programming. Doing so will result in a non-recoverable failure, requiring you to send your transmitter to the Horizon Hobby Service center for repair.
So you will need to MANUALLY re-enter each of your stored models after the upgrade! You will not be able to go back to an earlier firmware after you upgrade!

Doesn't seem like it's worth the trouble, won't be updating unless I see a good reason.

ditto. even though i fly a lot of planks, my radio is great the way it is. Not worth the effort to manually reprogram all models imho.

this is one of those - 'it ain't broke so don't fix it' moments

Darn I just wiped all my pre-set models for pretty much nothing new. I don't need more than 2 flight modes nor multiple dual rates. The update is only good for the hardcore plane guys who need multiple dual rates, and scale guys.

I haven't watched the whole video but it's my understanding that it says you can't reload the SD card models, that simply isn't the case, you can but you should go over everything for functionality.

I started to reprogram some of my small heli's to the new updated radio. There's a few things that I notice.

1. Took me a while to figure out why I was not getting full min throttle without having to use the trim tab. Turns out there's a feature call trim offset in the throttle curve that was set for 100. Well this is not useful for my electrics, but it would be a good thing for the nitro helis.

2. Under neat the main voltage reading, at one point I also had another voltage reading under the main voltage. It was 5v than dropped to .4v. I'm not sure what I hit, but I was messing with the menu trying to fix the throttle issue. I turned off my radio and never saw it since. It weird because I have no idea what it is. Maybe a glitch? I don't think my radio has telemetry lol

If you have the XG thats the reciever voltage, the 11x doesn't have the cicuitry for the telemetry.
