I am not a fan of government intervention but I hate the ridiculous stupidity of bottled water where it is totally unnecessary. Many will argue and I think in some cases it's necessary but the whole idea of making bottles, filling them with water, packaging, shipping and then throwing them away seems like the ultimate waste. Just refill them with your own filtered water.

Ponder over this: The bottle is made from a petroleum resin : PLASTIC
Ever wonder if their is a transfer of the chemical residue from the blow molded resin plastic ( a petro based element } into the human system ??

You bet: Sterile Yes - uncontaminated NO

They break, crack, and chip. Coke and other drink makers paid out large sums of money to settle case for event that happened due to breakage, cracks and chips in bottles that were reused over and over.

Glass is extremely cheap to make from mining the pretty rare pure silicon sand raw material / soda ash / lime and boron.

Very low cost's processing the raw material. Transportation of the light weight and refining of the raw material is also economical .

Take's a minimal amount of energy to produce, and very few step's. Most of it is exported along with the all recycle's due to the low cost of energy to recovery it and strict pollution control's in other country's.

It's even so low cost to produce it's economical to ship it across in ocean going barges.

Making money taking our resource's for other to capitalize on.

It was a chip in a coke bottle- that done it :

Class is the absolute safest material of all - inert as a storage container.

Ever notice the High Quality craft paper cardboard ??? or packaging ??
Just like the imported tainted gypsum Sheetrock - that's being torn out of homes due to contamination.

My wife has me drag these damn cases of bottled water out of her car once a week. It drives me nuts. I think it's a vanity thing for women or something. Makes her feel like a Kardashian toting around her bottled water. Reminds me of Libs with their Starbucks cups in hand.

All this money into the local municipality to purify water to come from the tap and here's my dumb ass breaking my back after she makes the obligatory romp through Target to buy a 24 pack of water.

Hide the empty's in the garage : When she's not looking re fill them and smuggle the contraband in:

You get to pay for it twice Once at the Tap and once at Target then two different type's of taxes " Sale's Tax" or usage fee's at the meter or even a flush tax even a recycle pickup for the plastic.

Every time you crack one: { Doe's this smell like plastic ??? }

Carry yer own water :

Agreed. My wife and I used to be bottled water junkies. Once we realized at just how many of those damn things we were going through every month, we decided that it was in fact a complete waste. We now have our own reusable "water bottles" and refill them with our own Brita filtered water from our tap. Less trash, less hassle, less weight lifting LOL!

Another good reason to just use a reusable water bottle and fill with filtered water is that most bottled water companies draw their water directly from local sources near you anyway and "filtering" is not regulated by the FDA. Why pay someone to sell your own water supply right back to you in possibly a less "safe" state (due to no FDA regulation) than most public municipalities (who ARE highly regulated) already provide?
