Cost of membership...

As I said before I would be willing to pay the AMA. Ok for the REMOTE possibility of a misfortunate occurance I can see the value however no one seems to know the cost of the clubs membership. Also no one has stepped up as a representative to discuss my concerns personally. I gladly welcome a PM from a club officer...

If he is "homeless" and has no current place to live, where would you suggest he stay and not get hassled? In front of a super market? parked on your stret? He's not a tweaker or begging for money. I'm not getting into this debate with you, but re-read what you wrote, if you don't find it as bashing, then that is your opinion. But I DO!

That being said, I Apologize that YOU took it personally. But It is MY View that you have extremely pety complaints about an expensisve a$$ hobby. It's MY opinion your being an anal bead about the best damn 1 square mile field in LA county That is dedicated to rc helicopters. And It is my RIGHT to stand by my Original post.

Thank you for granting me my rights and yes I grant you yours however reviewing our posts its clear you're interested in stirring up drama here. I never claimed to be perfect yet do claim to be diplomatic. Never once have I directly or indirectly insulted anyone INCLUDING YOU! Its clear I struck a nerve in you since you appear to dwell on the homeless person I mentioned in the beginning of this thread. Your repeated mention of the fields "care taker", (homeless person)seems to dominate your attention. This leads me to believe you derive mental nourishment from conflict of which I will not participate. To point your finger at me with your questions is out of line. You have absolutely no idea who I am, where I have been nor what I have experienced. On the positive, everyone reading this is enjoying your excitement. I do enjoy intelligent banter with people I personally know but since I dont know you I can only assume its a form of disrespect. Something I have not done to you and take with a grain of salt. dude if you're willing to pay for price of the helicopter (couple of thousand), cost for additional field gear (hundreds), misc. for chairs, food and whatever (a few more bucks), and AMA ($58) what is a couple of more bucks for a club fee to fly at an AMA sanction field. don't tell me you're going to cheap out on a couple of bucks because you don't think a club fee is necessary. COME ON! well if that is the case no one or anyone from the carson field is holding a gun to your head. You ARE NOT obligated to fly at carson which you won't need to pay. I have flown at local parks and if I get lucky maybe I can squeeze in 4 flights before the kids show up for practice but at carson field that couple of bucks gives a $2,500,000 piece of mind that I won't need to worry about should something bad happen to me or a fellow pilot. dude dig deep down inside and figure out what is important because flying is only 50% of this hobby. Now if flying is all you want to do I'm sure there is space you can find and if that's not enough space, get on a sim. Cheers mate!

NOTHING and eapocally you can ruin my afternoon today! Its Friday, my Escrow account closed as of 45 minutes ago, I am now a home owner. I have my smokin lady friend cooking me Dinner, and I have one of my two 700's just about rebuilt. Carson is Nice and Green and I Should be out there soon! Why don't you stop by and sign up, we can continue this debate, Ill be sure to bring the worlds smallest violin just for you.

Just a side note, the Far end of Carson has a gate that opens, so If your ever gracious enough to bless us with your presence, your more than welcome to take your freedom to the north end of the field.

First, congrats on all of your personal good fortune.
Second, given your sarcasm I just might accept your invitation and when I do, rest assure I will fly clear from all of the 3-D flyers only because I fly pattern. Your flying style doesnt require as much horizontal space and I do not wish to get in anyones way. Call it neighborly courtesy..

There are Different styles of 3D, not all of it is just stick banging. I use 3/4 of the fiekd flying big and fast. That's what I love about Carson, one person flys at the main pad at a time. And I or whoever is entitled to the whole field. So no one is ever in ANYONES way. The two pads behind the main pad are for 500 or smaller helis to 3D, or hover a 600/700 class Heli.

Please Do so, ill give you a proper introduction to the smelly homeless man.

If that's your gasser/homestead in the gallery money is obviously not an issue. Must be something much deeper....

I have always thought that if you don't vote, you can't complain about crappy representation, if you don't join an organization that can protect your rights, you can't complain about loosing them,(gun control), if you don't join a small club that has to maintain the field and has very real costs, you don't have to fly there.

I have always tried the support and help the guys I fly with.
So I still don't see the big deal with club dues.

You have been told you need to go to the field and talk to the president to get the cost.
I would bet it is less than $100.
How much do you tied up in a helicopter and all the gear?
The cost of membership is PEANUTS.

In addition I will add, I dont need representation. All I want to do is fly! If dues are upwards of $100 then I will go to a local park and do my flying the way we used to years ago. When I am asked to leave there I can find another place. Simple!

Its funny how people can flame a guy for speaking his mind. His words are twisted and interpretations are fabricated. Who "expected" or "required" anything Mr. Woodcrafter?

Rain, at least through you rr brought attention to a really good local Los Angeles rc heli field, land that hasn't been developed.

If they have to pay land tax for Carson you bet there'll be a membership fee.

Be careful that ama covers accidents in public places, or you may be sol.

You think you've had a close call? how about young children 5 minutes earlier where a heli goes in, that'll shake ya. Happened.

Membership dues are $50 your first year, and $30 a year Every year after. Come out on a weekend when someone is at the field, you'll be linked with the presidents contact info and be given an application. As long as you have AMA you can sign up on the spot. You can fly as a guest 3 times before making your decision of joining or not, But you must have proof of AMA to fly even as a guest. You stated No interest in a raffle, but your membership earns you a raffle ticket a the yearly meeting. Good prizes such as DX8 and futaba 8fg transmitters, blade 130X exc. Along with a free catered breakfast and lunch. You'll also be supporting this great hobby of ours!

If your not the social type, usually Mon-Thursday you will have the whole square mile to yourself and fly alone.
