Does anyone know if this combination has been tried?
My kit hasn't arrived yet and I'm trying to find the minimum shaft length required. The 650-83 has a 23mm shaft and I'm aware the Scorpion is 30mm.

I have not tried that combo, but if the shaft is too long you can always cut it off or replace it. I have used a Scorpion 4025 1100 on 6S in a logo 600 and it's a great combo.

The shaft is possibly too short, but as I don't have my kit yet I'm can't be sure.

Let us know if it works.

I looked at my Scorpion motor and the bottom of the pinion is even with the end of the shaft, just the right length.

Thanks, looks like I'm going to have to wait for Kontronik next week.
If the end of the shaft is in line with the end of the pinion, how does one mount the counterbearing?

Your shaft is too short. On my 600sx shaft goes pass pinion and into the counterbearing.

i have the 650-83 in my 500, the shaft is ok if you don't use the counter bearing, i use the mod1 main gear with 14t pinion because the mod .07 with the 18t pinion didn't give me the HS i want and the 19t mod 0.7 pinion is only available for 5mm motor shafts. the power i can only compare it with the 600-11 that i was using in my 500 and the 650 has a lot more torque but as all the electrics motor it will need more amps, what i like more is that no matter what i do to the heli the motor is always lands just warn (you can leave your hand on it and it would not even warm your hand) after each flights, even if i fly 5 packs one after the other the temp it's ok.

hope this info will help you.

No problems with lack of counterbearing?

Are you running this motor on 6s with the kontronik 100lv and what size blades, also what have your flight times reduced by?
