Hi, would some one have any idea why my wren44 is cutting out as soon as it touches the ground after flying. It starts perfect and is running great while flying but as soon as the skids touch the ground it cuts out. Has done it for my last 3
flights. Turbine is a kero start 44 Any thoughts would be appreciated
Thanks

Have you plugged the GSU in to see any fault messages?

Where do you have your throttle trim set during flight?

What is the setting in the decel delay?

Have you cleaned your filter lately?

Thanks for the replies,
I checked for fault messages there was none and checked the trim and throttle settings and they seem fine.
Trim down is "low trim" trim up is "ready" as I raise the throttle stick i get "Lo stick" then "Starting"
As i said the engine starts and flys great it's just when i land it stops.

My Decel delay is set at 012. Whats this setting for?
Filter looks good

Cheers

When the motor quits, is there any sign of smoke?
Ckeck for any small air bubbles in the fuel system. Are you using a quality UAT?
Also, we have found that mounting the pump at a 45 degree angle with the outlet nipples point up reduces the chance or an air bubble being trapped in the pump.
A download of the last few runs from the ECU would reveal if it were an electrical or fuel issue.

Herein may lie your problem.

Check out your throttle curve. With the trim set at normal starting or flight position, does the curve go DOWN before it goes back up?

If it does, I suggest increasing the throttle curve so that it's a straight line from the point of the trim setting to the point that it starts to climb. Basically it'll look like a hockey stick.

What I suspect is that when you come in to land and drop the throttle stick, the throttle is going into that "lo stick" area, causing it to shut down the turbine....

thanks guys, I've had a good look at my setting and throttle curves they are fine, I also checked on the display terminal where you can see the throttle percentage going up and down that also looks good.
My UAT is a good one from Dream works but I'll watch it closely for any air leaks.

I'll try and bring the throttle down real slow when i land and see if that helps but that's probably not it as it cuts out as the skids touch the ground so tho is still up high, I wonder if its some sort of short when it bumps the ground???

Question, How do you download from the Fadec. I can't see anywhere in the manual about it I guess you need the right cable and software. Didn't realize I could do that.

Cheers

You will need a download cable and the software, both are available through Xicoy Electronica, and the software can be downloaded from the website.
Gaspar is a great guy to deal with.

Thanks, I flew 3 tanks last Sat and had zero issues. All I did was reset the throttle positions with the ECU and alter my Tho curve slightly. Hopfully thats the end of it just a minnor glitch.

regarding the download cable I have a Spartan cable USB with the correct plug to go into the ECU Anyone know if this would work?

Cheers

How exactly did you alter the throttle curve? Did you raise the shallow downward curve at the bottom?
