I am trying to install the torque tube bearing carrier in my Hawk. It came without any instructions.

I assume it should be in the middle of the tail boom. How do I get it there and are there any tricks to doing the assembly to keep the bearing from popping out, or making sure the plastic ring on the torque tube seats in the bearing?

Thanks,

-Dave

Just put a drop of CA on the torque tube to keep the little plastic bushing in place. Everything else should stay together no problem.

Also grease or oil the orings on the support, this way it will slide into the boom nicely.

So glue the bushing about midpoint on the torque tube, then use the bushing to push the greased bearing holder into place?

Do I have to push it in from the tail rotor side or the heli side?

Thanks,

Dave

Doesnt matter what direction you go in.

The small bushing on the tube gets glued to the tube.

The small bushing has a flange on it, so when you push the assembly into the boom, just make sure the flange of the small bushing is pushed against the bearing, else it may pop out if you go in the other way.

Beyond some grease, there is really nothing else to do.

as i remember,
1, install bearing, small bushing, 2 rubber bands onto the frame(shown in pic), push the assembly into the middle of the boom with the tube's T head, bearing should face front.no need of CA, just lube rubber bands with a bit of oil,the assembly will stand firmly in the boom.
2, insert the tube with T head facing front into the boom, from the front boom to the rare, and ensure the rare tube end will fit the rare rotor case.

sorry for my English, trying to explain clear.

The purpose of the CA is to prevent the entire assembly from sliding up the tube as you put it into the boom. This way you are certain the support is where it should be.
