I was thinking of ditching my co pilot + hard deck + beastx + rx combo to go for the HC3SX. But, I was watching video on it and it seems to recover inverted as well as upright. That is something I would not want. I would want just upright only.
How does the bail out operation work w/ this?

Ditch the Co-Pilot and the 50ft hard deck.

You can use the bailout feature when you want. It can be turned off or on. It can be used only when you initiate the bailout.

You don't have an invisible hard deck telling you when or when you can't use your option.

I only added the hard deck recently. Ive used CPII for years. Honestly, 50' is the length of a basketball court which I realize now is WAAAY above my comfort zone.
I just want to know, does this unit upright level if hovering inverted and the bail switch was thrown on?

You can set the SX up in the wizard to rescue to upright only OR to rescue to upright or inverted depending on the attitude of the heli. Since I don't fly inverted, mine is set up to rescue (or bailout) to upright only. It works great. I've only used it once for a real bailout, but I've tested it a dozen times and it's never failed. These are great devices.

If you are inverted it will stay inverted from what I have been told.

Ah, ok cool. So you can select it to level upright only if the bail out is flipped. I want to be able to have it off, in an inverted hover and be able to flip it on having it self level asap.
Seems like this is all possible. Is it rock solid FBL wise like the beastX?

I have never owned a BeastX, but I fly 2 800 size camera ships with the HC3-SX units and can let go of the sticks.

In my opinion as I utitilize the system, it is Rock Solid.

I have and use MB, DJI WKH and HC3's and I like them all. The WKH is a different beast so we'll leave that out. I like both MB and HC3 because if your set-up is on, they are rock solid. I like the HC3's better because they are programmed using the laptop/wizard and have a lot more features/tweaking you can play with. My 47gIII hovers hands off with the HC3 - love it. Just another bit of this hobby that I enjoy fooling around with. I don't do 3d-type stuff because I'm not a good enough pilot - I like scale heli's and scale flight better anyway, so I don't worry about it. These devices help me fly and I like them. Barry (Mojave) always speaks highly of Vbars and I bet they're great, too - never tried one.

Wrongler - the device will rescue to upright, even if you're inverted. There's a selection in the Horiz menu called "Goes to Pos." If you select this - it will always return to upright. You can also active "coll pitch" and it will return to upright and then ascend til you deactivate the rescue. You don't have to use this feature though. If you use the Acro feature - it will rescue to either upright or inverted, whichever is closest, and will also use collective to ascend, even if inverted. It's pretty amazing.

I have tried many FBL units including BeastX on electric/nitro and Gas... The HC3-SX will not disappoint.

If it ain't broke then break it.

Ok, cool. It sounds very versitile.
the ONE MAJOR CONCERN I have is how does it perform on fast ELE stops? Does it bounce? Ive used a 3g, 3gx, sk-720, beastx...and thats about it. I have found the beastX fbl controlling wise is the best. The 3gx (a long time ago) ALWAYS bounced on ele stops...it even does this in Pheonix flight sim!!! Try it! (lol)

As long as this can level from inverted hover at the flick of the gear switch (dx8) i may ditch the cpII + BX + Rx for the HC3sx. I will have to sell them off for sure to fund an expensive HC.
It is going on my goblin 700. You can see why I want an 'all in one' deal. I tried the sk-720 and man, what a POS!! I tried tuning that for aver a month w/ hel[p from everyone in every which way and just could not tune out the ele bounce! Felt like a 3GX at best. Maybe the heli was too big for it? The BX slapped right in place and was rock solid on all axis's from day 1. I need bail out because I really dont want this bird hitting the dirt ...again.
Ive used cpII + BX for years so thats why i have them now.
Here, leme post some pics. The canopy hides the wires and stuff pretty well, but yea...zap-goo is your friend on every heli!

You said it gives collective as well when bail out is flicked on...but, "until it is turned off" as well? So, it keeps climbing until you flip the switch off? that sort of weird...could you explain that a little more clearly?

I will most likely not turn this on in flight...but if I need to, I need it to rescue me FAST...like CPII does.
Anyone know any better demo videos for the HC3sx than the 1 I found?

You have to program a switch to operate the bailout in your TX. I also have a DX8 and use the bind/trainer switch which is springloaded. You hit it, hold it til you are happy with the attitude (or elevation if using the goes to pos/acro) and when you release it, no more elevation gain. That simple. As for the ele stop - I can't answer that as I don't fly that way. I'm sure someone else can, though.

I'm talking about the elevator AXIS bounce when the cyclic stick is centered quickly.

Well, can anyone comment on the 'feel' of the fbl unit itself? Is it solid on all axis's when you give quick cyclic input and then center the stick right away? (ESPECIALLY ele axis...this is the axis of which a poor fbl controller will "bounce" on a quick stop.)

Boom kid
I have the extreme unit on my Whiplash nitro and it is solid all the way around. This unit doesn't have the bailout feature but its the same fbl unit. Don't hesitate to get one for your goblin, it can handle it.
