Anyone use a portable flameless butane heat gun (or a butane soldering iron with a hot air attachment)? If so, would like to know if they work well without burning heatshrink or discoloring bearing blocks when heating up, etc.

They work and would be the ticket for field repairs but i find the best tool is still an electric heat gun [better heat control].

I use a butane torch that has a soldering tip. $25 from radio shack. Works great for ec5's and heat shrink. I don't even use the soldering tip.
