Guys can anyone help me out with the proper setup for the rotorhead on an FBL heli? Do you have zero pitch at half stick? If I try to set my heli for normal mode my pitch curve starts at like 47 and goes up from there. Thats where I have alittle negative pitch. Do I set my heli to full collective then split the difference between the headblock and the swash with the follower? The followers arms are supposed to be level at full pitch right? Any help or links to info would be really appreciated.

Mine fall down, went BOOM!!

first set all your servos at 90 degrees and the follower should be centered at mid stick 0 degrees pitch. Then use your flybarless controller to set max and neg pitch.

I run 12+ and 12- on most of my 20 helis

I use a free app on my droid phone that measurs pitch.

rotorhead setup for FBL
At midstick, 0 pitch the followers arms should be straight and level correct? Should the swash be centered between the bottom of the headblock and the top of the frame as well at 0 pitch?

Zero pitch at mid-stick. Depending upon the FBL unit, you set your max +/- pitch either using the FBL unit itself, or your transmitter PITCH number in the SWASH MIX/AFR menu.

It's a plus if the followers the drive the swash are level at zero pitch, some setups just make this difficult to achieve.

If you are setting up a DFC-style head with a shorter main shaft, make sure that at low collective you're not bottoming the swashplate out on the frames when you add cyclic into the mix.

Thanks guys. Dave I'm converting a Caliber 4 to FBL. I'm using a TZ Frenzy 50 FBL head with an Align swash driver. I went cheap street on the FBL unit. I'm using a Tarot ZYX-S. I heard lots of good stuff about them though.

Outta -- I have a CopterX unit in a 450 Pro. It's OK as far as FBL controller goes. The Tarot unit is supposed to be either the same, or very similar.

Wow, you're going to be getting rid of that funky flybar setup on the Caliber? I hated that mess from day 1.

Good luck on the FBL conversion.

Yeah Dave I'm going to try. I think it'll be a good setup if I can get it right. Don't know why but I just like these Caliber 4's. So far the setup looks pretty good. Should have a lot of pitch. I got the heli and immediately took off that weird head. Looks good with the YZ 50 FBL head on it
