Well, I crashed!!!! I was adjusting the Beastx POT 1 for cyclic. I had taken off and landed a few times only flying for 15 seconds each time. Then land and adjust. Each time it got better, I was looking for that crisp stop in tight aileron tic tocs. I was just about there when... Damn it, my thumb slipped off the collective and I was only about 5 feet off the ground. About 2300-2400 head speed on its side right into the dirt. Blade dug into ground at least 10-12 inches. So, total damage.. Boom a little bent, torque tube a little bent, main shaft really bent, main gear stripped and maybe feathering shaft bent but i have not checked it yet. Main bearing on top is notchy so it needs a new one. Also 2 servos stripped so I will have to rebuild them.

All and all, not bad at all. Not too worried about blades and servos. All the other stuff shipped to my door from Germany (freakware.de) is US $127.00 I can deal with that.

I noticed on the website that there are several parts made out of aluminum that you can replace you plastic ones with. I don't think these are needed at all, it just adds some bling.

This heli is insane and a blast to fly, down side.. I get about 3 1/2 minutes. But I do play it safe on my batteries. If you can afford to jump up to the 60 to 65c batteries, you notice another 15% increase in power.

I have been flying with 35c but tried my friends Gens Aces. Off the hook!!! I will be getting some.

I have to save up the cash, I want the nitro so I will have the brother and sister set. Maybe even the Gasser when available.

If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask or to PM me. I am loving this thing and can answer most questions.

Soooooo.... How long will it take to get parts from Germany?

Jamie, did you get your parts yet? I have 35+ flights on my TSA 700E and am starting to really respect this heli for what it can do----I am impressed with how smooth it flys even in windy conditions. I am turning far less HS----1850 which is plenty for me at least at this stage in the game. It flys big and clean and oOhh so smooth. My flight times are 5:5 minutes and use 70-75% and this is flying large F3C style. I have no problems from day one with the TSA 700-----just fly and charge!!!!!!!!! After following the Align 700 through 3 versions (waiting to get it right) and then finally going with TSA I think I have made a very wise choice.

I am holding out for Amainhobbies to get them. Tried to order from Freakware but it was a pain trying to figure the difference in money. They also seemed really high in price due to the difference in the US dollar. For example, a kit here is $799 and there it is over $1100 US once you convert.

So, I cross my fingers that they will have parts soon. I have heard they are through customs at this point.

Jamie,
Experience RC in Michigan will be stocking TSA kits and parts and they are hoping to be up by the end of the month----it is great to have a company on the east coast stocking parts.

I did hear this. In fact I heard the order is being processed. This makes me happy! Only think better would be if they got here quick. I have been holding out for Amain to get the shipment. It should be there any minute..

I could not believe the difference in price because of the value of the US dollar to order from Freakware. So I am holding out.

Example, the kit here priced at 799 US and priced there at 799 euro. The difference in converting to the US dollar is 799 US vs 1100 US. So I am holding out for parts in the US.

The Euro has been tanking for the last 8 months----I would be waiting for a US supply too----in the mean time I will fly 3 mistakes high. It sounds like the euro market is way over priced.

Hi Guys,

If you buy from any of our European outlets eg. freakware there is 19%Vat but this is only for sales in Europe.

The price should be 799euro - 19% = 647.19 euro.
with today's exchange rate this is 823.61USD kit price

Please let me know if you purchased to find out or just going on retail figures, Thanks

Best Regards

Nigel,
At today's wholesale exchange rate of 799 Euro is 1020.US, is the Vat at 19% included in Euro pricing? We are looking forward to parts supply in the US so the exchange rate and international shipping is eliminated. How is your 700 gas coming along??

Hi Sherman89,

Yes you are correct 799 euro is 1018.72 USD.

however this included 19% VAT which any goods exported from Europe to USA, Australia, Asia, etc don't pay the 19% VAT. If you logged into freakware's website and listed your location as America then the prices would all be excluding the 19% VAT.

This means the kits price is 799 - 19% = 657.19 euro
selling today for 837.91

Hope this helps all you need to do is log in as an American client, then the VAT will be eliminated.

Gasser is just finish production, having boxes and manuals printed as present. Getting very close to release.

USA will be on-line any day now, hence fixing all of the above

Best Regards

Nigel

I am surprised you don't wait for the gasser which Nigel says is imminent. The gas motor has gone through some good changes and now has the power to get the job done----I will wait for the TSA gasser----I would much sooner burn $3.50 gas than $35.00 nitro fuel.

I would love a gasser. It will probably be in the future. But right now, i have everything needed for the 90. Also, the power of the 90 is usually pretty high compared to the gas model. Not to say that wont change though. But really, as much as i fly, it is really for my 7 year old. He does the flying mostly. I just do the wrenching.

PARTS!!!!

WOHOO!! I have parts. So, time to fix.. That is the easy part. When it crashed, it stripped all 3 servos, so I have to put new gears in them. Not hard, just time consuming. Back in the air Friday!!!

Been back flying a bunch. I convinced a buddy of mine to also purchase a 700E. So now there is a couple of us flying them locally. We have been feeding off of each other for flight as well as build tips. I did a walk around video and I am now in the process of finishing a tip video. It will be for the gear mesh and what position to put the pinion in. I had 2 stripped gears when i thought the mesh was great. I found that the pinion was actually mounted too low on the shaft. So video to come soon.

Also, turned off governor mode on the Scorpion Opto 130. Running flat throttle curve in Idle 1 and 2.

Flight time is 4:30 but i am running a high head speed.

@ Sherman89,

That sounds exactly right. I have flown around at a low head speed like 1900 and when i check my batteries, I still have a bunch left in them.

I love the heli though, only thing would better would be if i had a little lower kv motor. Mine is a 560 and I know with the 500 it would be perfect.

But the upgrade will be to get the 4035-560kv out of it and install either a 4525 or 4530 520 or 500kv. Then it will be a power monster.

It truly has made me appreciate flying more since I got it.

I use the Hacker 470 and the heli is solid at 1900----it does everything I want it to do and more----no need for higher HS for me, just charge and fly!!!!!
