How easy is it to keep the light on the heli? I lost it a couple times. How was it in person?

Have heli.
Have fuel.
Have lights.
It's night.

What else would you do?

piranhafreak,
Yes,I was shaking my first flight but the next 4 were awesome..

BobOD,
I trust everyone I fly with and we have a awesome group of pilots that love doing this..I sure you remember me wanting to do this BigBlock for 3+ years and I kick myself in the azz for waiting so long haha..

MartyH,
The video doesn't show everything good but you can honestly see the heli better with spot lights than you can with night lights..

Timtreo,
Same reason everyone flys helis, its fun..

offgridheli,
You'll love it..If you have a good group of pilots, you can fly all day and night...

We have a awesome group of friends and I need to think David because he turned me on to this..Heres more from that night https://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t715672p1/

Set up a night rig. Or least get some night blades and a few led strips that are easily removable if you don't want a dedicated night flyer. Just seems like it would be very easy to loose the spotlight but to each his own, as long as it fun I guess it looks cool... Your heli does sound pretty awesome!

Check out my night blades in my gallery.

CalmAir,
They are pretty big and if I remember right, there around $30.00 bucks each and you can use a 4S lipo..Not heavy either..

Timtreo,
If I wanted night blades my buddy said he would make them but I don't.Don't worry about what others do,move along..

There are some people in this hobby on a very limited budget.

Spot Light Flying (Redneck Night Flying) is a great alternative to have someone that wants to try night flying w/o the expense and time involved to wire up.

We can decide to go Redneck Night Flying, Load heli's and spot light's, and you are flying.

Not to mention, some of the pilot's in our group are very, very good, fly Tareq style 3"-6" off the deck.
When they stuff one, and someone will stuff one before the night is over, the spotlight guy's get back in the air at a fraction of the cost, not to mention the time to do another canopy etc.

It opens up night flying to anyone that has a heli, from one that was bought at a Gas Station for $25.00 to a 800 size machine.

Some guys prefer Redneck night flying over a lighted rig.

Tip-
Apply some reflective tape (Found in auto parts stores, trailer section/lights) and then when the lights hit it, it will pop.

Fly with scheduled ground contact !

The first time we tried spot light flying we used our slow sticks first. After a few flight we got brave enough to get the helis in the air. If you have not tried this yet give it a go, its fantastic. So much fun.

I have learned if you move the sticks the right way you wont crash.
