And look at how the cost has come down. Personally I think whatever the next generation of battery technology is, that will be the one that really will be the game changer in society, not just in our hobby.

Yeah prices are way down compared to the first lipos, I saw back in the early 2000's. I just bought a 6S 2650 mah 30C Pack off eBay for $28.00 and free shipping. They have plenty in stock if anyone's interested.

Item number 280800676131

We need a battery the size of a single C or D Cell that will run for a year or longer on a single charge, or fill. Something like a reactor.

Now we have high quality options at lower prices. Thunder Power, however, has only reduced prices very slightly since then.

My first sets were;

Kokam 6C 3s2000mah at $80 from tower. I needed 9s2p for my funtana 90 and that was $480 per flight. I think I was carrying about 3 packs.

I upgraded those to awesome 10c packs, later.

You guys speak about these batteries in the past tense. I still have my very first nitro engine some 15+ years later. It still makes virtually the same power today as it did back then. Can you tell I'm a nitro guy?

With all of those old prices, I practically had a box of gold. . . . more like a box of lead now

Back then was likely 15C rated to. That's cheap price I recall paying even more then that for 6s1p 4200mah packs!

The whole hobby has become loads cheaper, well kinda... Now so much selection of cool things I can't stop adding to cart, seriously its that bad. If I don't have at least two parcels to pick up each week I feel empty inside. Lol

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I remember paying $800 for a pair of packs for my eAvant. Ouch.

> The whole hobby has become loads cheaper, well kinda...

Yes and no. I would say high quality kits are now available for lower costs. But, I see the reduction undone by the "need" for high cost servos. We seem to be good at shifting the costs around, not really reducing the overall cost.
