After flying just about everything from the mcpx to the goblin and not being totally satisified, I had considered producing a new pod and boom type heli that would exceed the quality of what we are accustomed to seeing from our top overseas manufacturers, with very competitive pricing and of course built and designed in the U.S.
In the beginning stages it would utilize a few align components(main shaft, torque tube, feathering shaft, and tail case) until I can refine some modifications im going through with my own design.
Thinking of a true 500 size and 600 sized bird to get things started
Any interest??

Nothing alike.... Frame and head is totally different, servo location and mounting will also be different, main gears will not be dimensionally identical to align either

Yes, I think you would get a lot of interest.

Isn't that what MA (except for the Furion 450) claims to be?

I love my F6!

Definately! if its engineered here, made here (not just assembled) there will be followers...

your biggest issue will be price, parts availability and service...mess up any one of these and it will not be worth while...for anybody.

And IMHO always keep in mind the KISS principal....the more components it has the more failure points too.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Yup, you have got me interested, but only if parts are going to be readily available! To me, there is nothing worse than needing a part and seing "backordered" or "out of stock" for weeks at a time.
It sure would be nice to have a reasonably priced high quality alternative out there.

I don't think you have a prayer trying to compete with the high volume 500 and 600 helis but I think a 700 size could work if you go into it with realistic expectations. It would have to be superior quality and not boutique priced. A certain percentage will pay a little more for better quality but they will only pay so much and their will not be many of them. Most people talk the talk but they don't walk the walk. Be careful.

I'm in the market for a sub-compact. I just ordered a Chevy Sonic assembled in Detroit.

Miniature Aircraft produces it's helicopters here in the USA (Billings, MT).

Parts are readily available and on par or less than the cost of Chinese manufactured models.

I guess that a new startup heli company in this situation would be like Bambi vs M1A2 Abrams?

wouldn't it be good for the consumer (us heli guys) to see more 100% USA competitors?

Interest ???
My take on it is that there may be some interest but at the end of the day, people are CHEAP.....

There is NO BETTER QUALITY than what is offered by Chris and MA..... but most folks are simply not willing to "pay the price" for quality stuff.....

Again........some will but MOST won't......

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

I would be interested for sure but remember the Avant Aurora Ultimate 90 and E Aurora are made in the USA and priced under $890....

They are great quality too.

Don't get me wrong...I'm still interested.

I literally never use the word literally right.

And that's the truth, especially in this hobby. Just look at how many folks won't hesitate for a second to buy from the King compared to supporting a US based vendor.

I'm interested. Your competition will not be with Bergen. If you are going to produce a pod and boom to compete with a Bergen. Then I think the market isn't there. They are an upper end small market. MA will be a competitor to a lesser amount. The Chinese is your competition. I you can make a quality, true 500, 600 size helicopter at a price that will compete with the Chinese you will have a product that will move.

Jimmy, If it looks like a heli I like it.
