I have been reading some of the older threads on flybarless for the Raptor 90. Did we arrive at a consensus on what head to use? I have Futaba CGY-750 I could use.

Yeah, please don't use something that works, is simple and low cost.

Lol. It's just not right... Hopefully yours doesn't develop tons of slop and fall apart mid-flight. Ask me how I know. I haven't used one and refuse to put any align crap on my Raptors, but have seen more than you know of that have.

Take it for what you will, I don't really care. I'm just giving my opinion.

I'll second the G-Force conversion. I have it on two of my R90 helis!

If you skip me I can't play!

Plus you can keep using your stock parts, feathering and main shafts!

I didn't say their weren't alternatives.
Some like the GForce - fine.
I looked at the GForce and decided it wasn't going to be the best FBL for the project.

This is what I used and I am happy.
I would also recommend it to anyone that asked (which is why I contributed to this thread).

IMHO - The Align 3G head has been solid and reliable for me. To dismiss it because "It is Align" seems... odd.

It has some benefits that the GForce can't match.
Better performance (lower cyclic roll point - lower CG)
Parts are easy to find if you bend something
It is very cost effective - less than $100 for the full conversion (including the Lynx main grip bolts).

I use it with the Skookum SK540.

BTW: I have a 2nd Raptor 90 SE that will be converted to FBL using the Align DFC head - even lower CG than the 3G.
Yes, I would expect the next round of "I had one of those blow up on me and I hate it" to start.

And, I got a 2nd SK540 for it.

BTW: Are we really calling it the "Raptor 90 Classic" now?

I don't call it classic! The G-Force head does sit low. The Rappy had it's flybar over the head and there's no extra material in the G-Force head block to raise it up. Since when is it "Hard" to get Raptor feathering shafts or mains?

If you skip me I can't play!

The DFC head is pretty clean too.
It flys better than the 3G head - like its on rails.

This was my setup used RJX head fitted strait on, no alterations required. I like the shiny chrome finish and it fly's great.

What you really mean is "I hope everything fails so I can say "I told you so""
Thanks.
And, I can see you really do care.

and..
Hope you have plenty of tail booms.
In other words: "You are doing something that I don't like, so I hope you fail".

I get it - you don't like Align.
I really like the TT too - but I'm not an Align bigot. I don't have any Align Trex 700 airframes - I like the Raptor 90 Classic.

Sometimes the hostility gets me down. This is what is causing so much problems in the country today - the passive aggression and "I hope you fail" attitude.
[/Soapbox mode]

Kit bashing is the art of picking and choosing components from the manufacturer, OEM & 3rd party sources to create "The Perfect" heli. And, I'm not just talking about a canopy, mounting HW or bling - I'm talking about "I don't like that rotor head - what can I do to make it better".

And, if it helps someone else, then it is all the better.

Believe 1/2 of what you see and none of what you hear.

Did you have any issues with the plastic aileron bellcranks?
I changed everything over to metal, but I was wondering if that was more of a "bling" thing rather than necessity.

With the RJX head, how much lower (closer to the frame) do the main blades sit from the stock SE / 3D flybared head?
