Does the 7940TH servos still consider as a good cyclic servo, even for FBL ? Or can you find better servos for the same price, perhaps even cheaper?
Whats your experince with those servos and FBL systems..

Thanks

Still good for me

There are many great servos out there nowadays. That being said, I am still using 7940TH servos on the cyclic of my G4 FBL Raptor 90 and they are flawless (no heat, no fade, crazy fast, super resolution). They work very well with the FBL controller (CGY750).

If I were buying new I would probably buy Futaba BLS255HV, but if I had 7940TH servos in hand I would happily use them without worry.

Thanks for the feedback

So the resolution and centering on those servos is on par with newer servos you think?

I don't know the answer to that "scientifically", but I will say if they are not it is not noticeable in any form. I think brushless are inherently better with small step resolution, but these return to a perfect trim every time I return a stick and they also provide the smoothest movement transition and incremental change as good as anything I've flown... Ever. And they are lighting fast to boot. I have no plans whatsoever to change them
Out of my raptor g4, they work too perfectly.

From what I understand the 7940 was designed as a cyclic servo and having titanium gears makes them slop free for a very long time.Hitec has a newer version with NEU brushless motors if you have to have brushless.I have the 7940TH servos in my 3DMP XL and my TDR and I think they are great, since they have the speed , torque and tough gears to last.I have BLS 451s in another heli and they have a bit of slop in the gear set which bugs me,but 451s are only a 100 bucks.I would use 7940s anytime but check out the newest versions as you can get a few different torque outputs to suite your needs with titanium gears and brushless motors.
