The first pic looks like it's from the Famous World Record Mass Hover at Helis Over Delaware this July!

I was there. The sound was incredible.

I seriously hope you aren't comparing nitro exhaust to DDT

The exhaust from a heli may be very visible but it is not harmful.
50 helis put out fewer toxins than a Toyota.

Same with diesel. The smoke is visible but not toxic. Not like gasoline anyway.

Now Lipo smoke....THERE'S some toxic stuff

Whatever.lol...

Look up the pollution caused by the production of batteries from obtaining the materials to producing them and move on to the pollution caused by generating electricity.
Also look into the process of mining rare earth minerals to produce batteries.
The creation of a battery produces more pollution than a nitro heli flown for years.

Nitro produces way less pollution throughout the entire process.
Including burning it.

Neither are green but electric is ironically the worst for the environment....for now anyway.

That DDT fogger brings back memories of when I was a kid. When I was six years old, my dad (in the Army) was stationed in Okinawa. This would be 1960 - 1963. One of my dad's first stops after we got there, was the quartermaster's, where, among other thing, he was issued something like a case of 24 aerosol cans of DDT. The cans were standard Army issue Olive Drab.

We initially lived "off base" in private housing until space freed up in the military housing area. When we finally moved into our home on the base, every evening, at dusk, the Army Corps of Engineers would drive a truck like the one pictured through all streets in the housing area, fogging the neighborhood to kill mosquitoes.

The bigger kids (high school age or so) in the neighborhood would run behind the fogger, in the cloud of DDT, chasing the truck. It was an odd evening ritual, and to my knowledge, no one ever questioned the practice, or the effects it might have. To my knowledge, no one got sick or croaked from the practice. Maybe years and years later, but that is an unknown.
