I went to fly the 600 today and as soon as I did my first flip, my blades just stopped. It appears that either my main gear or main tail gear failed and brought to a dead stop. It dropped out of the sky about 30 ft and there was nothing I could do about it.

I can't believe this, but all three of my cyclic servos are trashed. They won't work. They are DS610's and I don't understand how that could have happened.

Any prior crashes or hard landings will do some unseen damage.

I just had sort of the same thing happen with one of my helis. In my case, the one-way failed and cocked the main gear off center, locking up the drive system in the blink of an eye.

The resulting crash also took out the main shaft, spindle, canopy, main blades, and grips. All three cyclic servos were stripped, and one ended up completely dead. To be safe, I replaced all three servos.

Those servos are repairable.

Tough break...No pun intended.

i have a gear that looks just like that one. bad bearings masked by the electronics eventually got so cockeyed in their journals that the whole mess locked up in flight.

bet you find a very worn bearing somewhere in the mix.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Nope, haven't found a bad bearing or anything that would've caused it. Luckily I have one spare servo, so I only have to replace two. The flybar ended up looking like a pretzel. Regardless, because of the servo's, this is going to be a $300+ fix for everything. I am also not going to repair the flybar head. I am going to slap my fbl head on and wait for my fbl unit to come in the mail.

I suppose that is what happened. They are not receiving any power at all.

Did you test them with any sort of servo tester? Or try to power them with another RX? Check the servo wires? Are the gears moving freely? Could it be the RX?

I don't have a servo tester, but yes I did hook them up to a different receiver and the servos are definitely dead. Looking at the head damage due to the gear breaking, it appears that the cyclic servos were overloaded. It is the only explanation I can come up with.

I was looking at the damage on the head, it must have been a violent stop. It sheared both bolts on the see saw and the flybar wrapped around. Luckily I will be saving a little bit of money by switching to my fbl head.

Well I found the problem to why the gears failed. It seems to have something to do with the one way bearing. Even though the installation was done correctly, it seems that something has failed and has too much play. I am going to try to replace the one way shaft first.
