I don't really care for the Blade line but do know a decent heli when I see one.

Once I extended my mCPx tailboom by one inch and bent the tail blades around a screw driver shank to give them more pitch, it was a whole different helicopter. I could finally do flips without the tail blowing out. It has to be the most durable micro ever made, much more fun to fly than the sim. It will teach you collective management, and that's a good thing.

MichiganFlyer, expect a package from me in a week or so.

The mCPX is a niche bird. It is a bird that is there to teach CP in a tame and crash resistant manner. It can be turned into an aggressive bird by going BL but in stock form it is more of a teaching aid that will keep you in the air and not at the workbench. There is no point arguing with a persons personal opinion. You might as well tell them that they should like mustard because you do. It is a good idea to keep negative opinions to ones self tho. Opinions are not fact. That's just my opinion.

I use it as a diversion from my daily routine and I plan on flying outside all winter. Plug in a battery, step outside and fly for four and a half minutes. I can do that even if it is only in the teens.

Don't be hatin'

I am also a mCPx V1 owner, and I love the thing. I'd love to see you guys fly your 130X's or 300x's inverted in your living room. I have yet to do the brushless conversion and tail extension, but it still is a great bird. I also have owned the 400, the mCX and the mSR. The line is a pretty good line, and very affordable. The parts are easy to get and very user-friendly instructions.

Yes, you cannot do piro flips, tic-tocs, and snap rolls with the stock mCPx, but it is a good heli to practice new tricks with and help keep you up on your orientations. I have seen many videos of the BL conversion to this bird, and it is amazing! Hurricanes, tic-tocs, flips, rolls.. they'll do it all. And if they crash, you might crack the canopy or snap the skid... $6-15 fix and you're ready to go again. It is a really tough little bird and people are still amazed what it can do outside. ESPECIALLY compared to those crappy "Helis" at the mall. They just need to blow up all the kiosks that sell them.

And just throwing it out there.. I still have a V1 New in box that I'm selling for $120 O/B/O.

Helis go in phases. A lot of people were really frustrated with the mCPx and have decided to go with something else and unload it. You will see the same thing happen in 6-8 months with the 130x.

I picked up the 130x and while it has potential and the driven tail is a nice addition, it leaves a lot to be desired and the horrible shake when you transition through the pitch range looks like it is going to self destruct. I can fly through it no problem, but no one likes their helicopter to start spazing out each and every time you do a roll or a flip.

If there isn't a fix in the next month or two it will probably join the rest of the E-fail products in the waste bin.

Well said. I feel the same way. I don't expect "perfection" out of the box on any heli but at over $250.00 these issues are ridiculous.

I dumped it in hard a few times yesterday trying to learn tail forward flight.
From the OP, all I got from this thread was a big freaking headache as I went from thinking about "backwards flying" to "tail forward flight."

For 25 years, my brain has computed all stick movements for backwards flight. Now, it has to wrestle with this notion of tail forwards....
OMG...its time to quit

A bone stock MCPX doesn't have power like that even with low pitch and good collective management..

You should try nose out some day. It's an old trick but you don't see it much anymore.

Yes it does Blade Strikes. I was there that day when Finless took that video. It was a bone stock mCPx, owned by Finless Bob. That was before any of the mods started. Everyone was smitten..... but that didn't last long!

That video is for sure stock.
Mine was at least that powerful.

Any that aren't have problems or bad lipos.

Flips and piro flips and stuff are easy for it but it won't tic toc or anything like that.

Nothing he did in the video required any real power.

They definitely aren't really 3D capable but they'll certainly piro flip.

I literally never use the word literally right.

Compared to my 130 X, my mCP X is a plastic piece of poo and that's after being converted to brushless. Well, actually, it flies "okay", so I'll keep it, but only as a back up. I've flown it only a couple of times in a single flying session since getting my 130 X just to make sure it still worked.

Well being as you have a camcorder and MCPX,please post video of you doing piro flips with it in stock form..You say its easy and doesn't take power so im sure you won't have a problem posting a video ..
