Someone was demonstrating a gyro at IRCHA that would automatically save the heli before it hit the ground.

Who was iving the demo and what was the name of the gyro?

The HeliCommand HC3-SX incorporates self-leveling and bailout feature.

I am a satisfied customer and user of this system.

I have 4 helicommands. 1 is the SX. I dont have it set to bailout but have played with it. It works great. A great feature for learning something new and not crashing. Well worth the cost. It pays for itself if it saves you one major crash.

The HeliCommand HC3-SX I was the pilot with the heli in the demo at IRCHA....good time!!!...any question I'm glad to help you...but Danny F1Rocket (Esprit Models)-Joachim (in Germany) or Rob McQuillen are the gurus really nice guys....
Can save you a lot of money and is really easy to use and set up...
I have set up in my F8g the recovery function with different gains and the self stabilization system....I love it,,, you can take nice level videos and pictures and try new maneuver without the stress or risk for your Heli...

Thanks for the feedback. Where is the best place to find the technical information? I don't even know the basics. Can it be used with any gyro (CGY750?) or does it replace other gyros?

Who sells them?

Thanks

It is more than a gyro. It is THE gyro. You will soon know it as "Captain Rescue".

If you go to the FBL system section here on RR, there is tons of info.

You can also use the "search" function to find answers. The three names mentioned above are the afficinados of HeliCommand.

Simply go to http://www.helicommand.com --> Products --> X-series.
And no, the HC3-SX is no add-on to other systems, but includes all you need: fbl system, tail gyro AND rescue modes as well as pure self-levelling.
And yes, go for contacting Danny (F1 Rocket here on RR).

Can you let go of the controls and it will hold the heli in one spot? or does it just save the heli from a crash and slowly clime or what? Just wondering if it would help with Areal photos? Also does it have to have a open field to work or will it work around trees and stuff.

NO ..... the rescue mode (HC3-SX) will push you away from the ground, upright or inverted!
A well mechanical setup heli w/ the help of the SX (lol) will keep your heli in one spot when you let go of the controls
